This photo shows 'Lift 109', a glass domed lift that rises through the middle of the north west chimney of Battersea power station.
This gives stunning 360° views of London.
It is called lift 109,because it is 109m to the top of the chimney.
It had only been open to the public for six weeks when this was taken.
As you can see, on this day, it was also offering good views of the Moon too!

Another from the recent trip to the Alps. The bubbles take you up to the higher reaches or the Meribel valley . So peaceful up there on the slopes. Thanks for stopping
I caught this Striated Thornbill by accident just as it lifted off from the bird bath. I like the prevailing blur of movement and how it contrasts with the edge of the bath and the sharp reflection of its right foot.

The supermoon shines brightly over the Portage Lake Lift Bridge at the very beginning of the Total Lunar Eclipse on September 27, 2015. The historic bridge spans the Keweenaw Waterway between the cities of Houghton and Hancock in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
As the sun warms the earth the early morning mist lifts, revealing the trees on the Iron Age ramparts in Ham Hill Country Park.
Taken as I walked across a street in our capital city, Wellington. The crane was really on a building site in front of the building but why spoil a good story? The clouds are entirely as seen. Have a good weekend, we are 6 hours off Saturday.
A cairn on the ascending trail to the Mont Jacques Cartier summit (Parc National de la Gaspésie, Québec, Canada)
On our trip last September to observe the last of the woodland caribous in Gaspésie, we stopped next to a stone cairn to take a peak at the surrounding landscape through the dissipating fog.
The sight is a reminder of what the caribous have to endure to avoid predators, reaching the cold summit to find food. It was disappointing not to see any caribou on that part of the trail, but we were expecting this; the ones living here are the only herd of this species still living south of the St. Lawrence River, and in spite of the protection measures in place across the park, their survival is threatened.
A caribou we did manage to see on the path down, on a car path surrounded by thick woods; it stared at us but quickly vanished among the trees before we could even lift the cameras. We could not snap any pictures, but were happy witnesses nevertheless!
So lift me up
Finish what you started
Take me on a ride
Lift me up
From the broken hearted
The river's deep and wide
