Imagine standing at a crossroads, the air filled with the scent of possibility. You gaze down the winding pathway ahead, its destination obscured by the gentle mist of uncertainty. You don't know where it leads, only that it ventures forth to "some place else." Will it be a journey filled with laughter and sunshine, or one fraught with shadows and storms? Such mysteries lie beyond the bend, hidden in the folds of time yet to unfurl. But as you stand there, pondering the enigma of the road ahead, one thing becomes clear: you cannot linger in the comfort of the present. Life beckons you forward, urging you to take that first step into the great unknown, where the tales of your future await their telling.
Life, a complex chessboard, stretches before us, each moment a move that shapes the unfolding game. The pieces of opportunity and challenge stand ready, awaiting our choices. As we contemplate our next move, we weigh the possibilities, anticipate the consequences, and strategize our path forward. The clock is ticking, and in this grand match, each decision is a calculated step towards victory or vulnerability. It's our turn, and the board is full of potential moves. With each decision, we sculpt our narrative, navigating the labyrinth of existence, a game where the outcome rests upon the choices we make. It's your move...
As in life, no one ever knows the outcomes that faces them.
One side will win, the other will not. But conflicts and events are seldom that simple in life.
Which side of the board of life will you choose?

ODC: Luck/Lucky
After a cold, grey, and harsh time, the sky eventually opened up and showed what it had kept for itself the last months. Today, the sun’s rays slowly but surely find their way through the dark clouds that finally begin to dissipate.
Suddenly, the gray monotony transforms into a light and fragile blue. Together with the glowing sparkles of the sun, this little performance bathes the whole forest in a mellow play of colors. As the wind blows through the trees, their shadows’ patterns create a playful dance with each other.
The warmth hits the skin, and the eyes process the moment’s beauty. And so it is not surprising that the tired mind soaks up every second of this magnificent time — a glimpse of what lies ahead shortly and a reminder that progress is still in sight.
Yes, in the picture, I’m here by the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond …. Where me and my true love were ever wont to gae, etc, etc., and I'll tak the high road, and ye'll take the low road.....
And the sun is shining bright on the waters of Loch Lomond, just through the trees on my right, as I look at the big roadsign ahead and think which way should I go? Decisions, decisions! I’m on my way to the little conservation village of Ellenabeich, just south of Oban. It’s a place many retirees go to in the expectation that they will grow old and see their lives out there. I know my end will come too one day, but I only want to go there for a short holiday this time! It might be my destination in life, one day, but I hope, not yet!
The thing is, do I take the road that is signposted for me, or do I go a different way? I’ll get to the same place, but the journey will be different. I'm thinking about just one hour of my life! The sign says Oban is to the right. But actually after forking off it carries on due north up the side of Loch Lomond. And up to Crianlarich and across to Oban. It’s the way they want you to go. It’s the flatter, more straightforward way, the route for ‘normal’ people who don’t really care too much how they get there. It’s just a journey for them. A means to an end. Make no mistake it can be a pleasant route, the road flowing through great glens with forests either side, mountains above, or over sheep-dotted moorland. There’s the odd place to get fuel and coffee. But mainly you just see a wide landscape, often through a rain spattered windscreen, your eyes mainly fixed on the car, caravan or truck ahead. But endure it, and you will reach your destination, in one piece, but probably just relieved to get there. In my opinion it’s the low road.
For me, my mind is already made up. Perhaps it’s in my genes, but I’m going the other way. The way they don't want you to go to Oban. So they sign it for Campbeltown without an alternative suggestion for Oban! Yes, I’m going on the high road. As the majority of cars, caravans and trucks peel off to the right, a smile spreads across my face, and my right foot presses a little more firmly down. This way it might be technically four miles further, and it might in theory take three minutes longer. But it’s the roller-coaster way and is possibly a little more dangerous too as a result. But going to Oban from that fork in the road at Tarbet, via Inveraray, does more for my soul. From Tarbet the road skims round the end of Loch Long and then through the trees, high up towards The Rest and be Thankful Commemorative Stone where there’s always a lone bagpiper. And then the road heads down the open glen, great dark mountains on either side, towards Cairndow. Now the open road rides alongside the sea loch, Loch Fyne, famous for its oysters until you have a glint of white walls and a little town, Inveraray sitting on the water’s edge. It always looks pretty with a tall ship and small puffer boat in the little harbour. Your eyes tend to fix on it so that you almost fail to notice the huge, grey turreted Duke of Argyll’s Inveraray castle passing by your right shoulder. It’s up to you if you decide to take a break here, a wander round the town, visit the old gaol, tour the castle, browse the tourist shops, have a coffee or some food. But I’m soon on my way, out through the side of the town and off up into the hills on the A819. It’s a pretty remote road but it reeks of “freedom” for me, amongst the heathery hills and glens, short straights in sunshine, lots of lovely bends and curves. Even a few ‘S’s. A driver’s road. And later you come down yet another gradual hill…and you catch a glimpse of the sparkling fresh water of Loch Awe, through the blur of birch trees at the roadside. And then you see it: Kilchurn Castle set in the middle of the loch, with the backdrop of magnificent mountains behind. You just have to throw the car at the side of the road and stop. Sadly, within another mile you have to rejoin the A85, the low road, and carry on to Oban.
But given a choice I will always want to try the opposite to what is the normal choice. Just to enjoy a little individuality. I’ll tak the high road. I think if I’m going to find an adventure it will be there. Yes, it may be a roller coaster, up and down, and I will reach the same destination as everyone else in the end. It's roughly an hour either way, but isn't life so valuable we should make an effort to get as much out of every hour as possible? The optimist in me thinks that by taking the high road I might see and do things others don't, have fun, and do it with a smile on my face. And I will with the words of this old song on my lips:
By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes,
Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond,
Where me and my true love were ever wont to gae
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.
Chorus:
O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland a'fore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.
'Twas there that we parted, in yon shady glen,
On the steep, steep side o' Ben Lomond,
Where in purple hue, the hieland hills we view,
And the moon coming out in the gloaming.
Chorus
O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland a'fore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.
The wee birdies sing and the wildflowers spring,
And in sunshine the waters are sleeping.
But the broken heart it kens nae second spring again,
Though the waeful may cease frae their grieving.
Chorus
O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland a'fore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.
Life choices. Will ye tak the high road or the low road?

The human being is not designed to live as a hermit – we are dependent on the existence of others in our lives.
Finding the right people to surround us is quite a tricky and possibly a life-long task. We need to invest time and energy until we can figure out if it is worthy or not. We are obliged to discover whether our vis-à-vis will also stand at our side in the dark times, how serious they are and if we can trust them?
For a working relationship, trust is mandatory. In order to build it up, we put ourselves in a status in which we assume to be almost as crucial for the life of the others as they are for themselves. We hypothesize that they would make an effort to bring a smile to our lips when we are depressed, that they would make sacrifices to help us and that they would carry us on their shoulders if we could not walk anymore.
Probably, we would come from the conclusion that all of our “extraordinary people” would fulfill the favorable characteristics which we attribute to a working relationship because, in the end, it was us, that believe to be in the right position, who decided whom to let in the exclusive circle.
The truth is that the world is full of people with empty words who promise whatever suits the situation and their own best interest. They hide behind their invisible masks and adjust their behavior whenever it is needed to get their benefit. They laugh with us, chill or party with us – but they are the quickest to run away the moment life becomes a bit more complicated. To understand that we were outsmarted and rapidly replaced hurts even more.
But as severe and painful these experiences are, they also show us who really cares and sometimes it can be surprising who unexpectedly shows up to comfort us while we are licking our wounds.
Everything I witnessed in Heaven had, in some way or another, to do with choices. It was our choices that “bought” us a ticket to earth and it will be our choices that determine our return to heaven. Our return ticket has already been bought and paid for by our Savior but our choices...
Having #multiplesclerosis the energy I spend needs to be focused on me and what I'm doing. . Spending my time watching the "Winners" within my area doesn't help me, it wastes my time and energy. . Granted, yes, I do learn from the A-Listers with how they do certain things so I can emulate it and make it better. I try not to compare or compete because my energy is better spent focusing on me and my efforts. . Watching winners enables negative thinking in my life. So I chose to focus on my personal progression! . #lifechoice #focusonyourself #michaelphelps #winnersclub #olympicgold #successtips #lifetip #bethebestyou #focusingonme
There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them. – Denis Waitley

On many occasions, intuition and wisdom disagree like two paths out of a big fork on a road. You can tell the nature of a man from the path he chooses. Pompous fools and vagabonds take the intuitive path whereas the road of wisdom is often chosen by folks who have been at the big fork before.
PS: I took the intuitive alley while shooting this baby hand-held with a focal length of 800mm, without autofocus and a very unstable image stabilizer (bliss of 2X teleconversion). Next time, I will borrow somebody's tripod.

Beauty....
...so much desired....so much admired...
...very often provocative....but ugliness can be provocative, too.
...these two, are again two different sides of the same coin, the self.
I'm amazed by beauty in all its forms and the more I look into the matter as I grow, the more I am convinced that beauty comes from inside....the soul ...the mind....the actions...the gestures...
There are so many wonderful, glowing individuals, who have cultivated their souls and hearts and are able to fill a room with their beauty, even when that doesn't correspond to typically external beautiful characteristics.
And on the other hand, there are such perfect externally looking creatures, that have often nothing to communicate, nothing to share but probably egoism and extreme self centeredness....ugliness inside cannot be camouflaged, whereares possible external imperfect characteristics can be dressed by a beautiful, kind, smiling soul.
We all have the potential to beauty, and it is a question of what we choose inside us to prevail: the beauty or the beast?

Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray and MassDOT Registrar Rachel Kaprielian teamed up in an effort to encourage more Massachusetts residents to register as organ and tissue donors on their driver’s licenses.
Lieutenant Governor Murray issued a proclamation designating April as Donate Life Month in Massachusetts.
Last year alone, the donor symbol on Massachusetts licenses saved the lives of over 140 patients awaiting a life saving organ transplant. Massachusetts drivers can register as organ donors on their driver’s license or online through the Donate Life New England registry.
About 99 percent of all Massachusetts residents who designate themselves as organ and tissue donors do so through the Registry of Motor Vehicles at RMV branches and on its website - www.mass.gov/rmv
Registering as a donor can save the life of someone desperately in need of a transplant. More than 110,000 Americans, including about 3,000 Massachusetts residents, are awaiting a life-saving organ transplant that may not come in time.
In 2009, the RMV became the first state agency in New England to create an on-line application to allow an individual to register to be a donor.
New England Organ Bank is the federally-designated, non-profit procurement organization responsible for the surgical recovery of organs and tissues for transplant throughout the New England region.
Donate Life New England is a joint project of two federally designated organ procurement organizations that serve New England – LifeChoice Donor Services and New England Organ Bank. They have come together to create a fast and easy way for citizens of New England to register as organ and tissue donors in a secure and confidential manner.
