After Ukraine destroyed a Russian data centre that housed a major 'bot farm' there has been a massive reduction in pro-Trump MAGA and far-right posts on social media across the US and Europe.

The current UK Prime Minister has, finally, shared the fact that Russia interfered with the Brexit referendum here. They also interfered with the Scottish Independence referendum.

There is plenty of evidence out there of Russian interference in Western political discourse.

Some of us have known for years that Russia was playing the long game in online disinformation and interference.

The impact that it has had on our lives cannot be underestimated. Public discourse. Division. Attitudes. Emotion. All manipulated by a relentless bombardment of propaganda designed to undermine Western democracy and destroy social cohesion.

We cannot allow it to continue. Our lives are miserable as a result of disinformation and lies spread on social media. Our lives are affected by political decisions made because of artificially overinflated online opinions.

Too many people lack the critical thinking skills to see beyond the propaganda, sadly.

These bot farms are a national security issue and it is long overdue that they are shut down.

Ps. I am not a bot.

A previously unpublished shot from April 2017 that shows off one of the unique natural light situations from a big city - where natural shadows fall in one direction but reflected sunlight shadows fall in the opposite direction. Enjoy!

Rubh'a Chruidh

It emerged that a retired farmer from Beauly, had beaten the TV star to it. Lanarkshire businessman David Hamilton, the island’s previous owner, confirmed he has sold the island for “near enough the asking price.”Mr Hamilton said that although Fogle had not put in an offer, there had been “tremendous interest” from potential buyers for the tidal island, which is attached to the tip of the isle of Kerrera. Mr Hamilton, who demolished the only house on Rudh-A-Chruidh, an old bungalow, to make way for a stunning architect designed home, owned the island, which has its own helipad and boathouse, for six years. He said he sold it because other commitments meant he and his wife, Grace, did not have as much time as they had hoped to visit it and added: “It was a great project, I really enjoyed the building and I am delighted that the island has gone to somebody local that knows the area and has the time to enjoy it, more than we did.

Excerpt from www.norfolkandtillsonburgnews.com/news/local-news/bia-ben...:

Eight benches in total were painted by two visual and media artists selected in a June/July contest open to Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) or BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour).

“They look amazing,” said Slattery. “It’s really great because they pull in the BIA colours and it’s all about the theme ‘eat, shop, live, explore’ downtown.”

The themes Live, Shop, Eat and Explore were represented on four sidewalk decals with the added challenge of each decal containing just one corporate colour. The decals needed to capture the unique, retail, food, and lifestyle opportunities in the charming town of Tillsonburg. Digitally drawn doodles for each theme were arranged to surround stylized type highlighting heritage stops, shopping, and activities such as Turtlefest as well as the rural nature of the area.’

Each of the artists were able to visit Tillsonburg, explore the downtown and ‘live the life,’ said Slattery, and from there they went to work.

The benches will be located in the downtown along Broadway, or side streets like Ridout or Bridge streets, creating an ‘art path from one end of the core to the other.’

“We want to make sure people know that Downtown Tillsonburg isn’t just Broadway but also the side streets,” said Slattery. “And there’s lots of shops and patios and things to explore along the side streets too.”

I see influencers as nothing more than grifters, manipulating people into buying things they do not need or selling them on ideas that are a lie. If you follow travel influencers, and visit the travel sites they suggest, ask for your money back if it doesn’t look like the images/video from their feed.

I just loved how the crowds added to an intensity of the 'urban canyon' feeling. A previously unpublished shot from November 2017 as the masses waited for the Glasgow Christmas Parade to take place. Wellington and his cone watching on and, not unusually, his horse has a cone too. It was so odd to see this street so void of vehicular traffic. Enjoy!
