The human condition is to have memories, telling us just who we are and how we got here. A moment may last for a second, but memories can live on; although as we make so many, some may become filed away beneath countless more.
Coming upon this image recently, I was immediately transported to that moment during a visit to Pennsylvania; up until then forgotten, standing on the banks of the Youghiogheny River in Cedar Creek Park.
I thought - how could I have forgotten such a beautiful moment as I remembered then, just how emotive and moved I was by the scene, the near silence, the smells.
Serene, peaceful, truly beautiful.
Photography can play such an important role in reviving lost memories.

Bicycling up a lonely country lane the other evening brought me into a direct vector with such a moment. Rather one that undulated in response to the wind blowing through the grass, creating a rippling, wavelike effect. The entire scene was alive with motion yet with the ethereal quality of still-life. I absolutely love effects like this created by late evening sun. I often just stop to watch the slow but steady transition from light into darkness. The light is ever changing, especially if sun light is intermittently obscured by broken clouds as it was this night. Dazzling light, alternating with dynamic shadows and light rays, and no idea what's coming next. Here the sunburst effect at the top of the frame radiates down into the scene to visually unify sky and earth. The epitome of a rural summer evening conveyed in an almost mystical fashion that flared up then vanished within minutes. Wealth beyond dollars.

It can happen to anyone, from any walk of life.
20 years ago I had a career that I was incredibly proud of, saving lives, I had a home, mortgage, car and disposable income. I was confident and, even though I hate to blow my own trumpet, I was incredibly good at the work that I did.
I was, however, bullied, harassed, abused, belittled and ostracised by management and many colleagues in a toxic environment where this behaviour had spread like a cancer. This went on daily for 13 years. I thought that I was 'ignoring' it and just knuckling down in my work. I didn't know, until it was too late, that this was damaging both my physical and mental health.
After some time off due to a stress breakdown I returned and the bullying turned into a witch hunt. They succeeded. My mental and physical health had been destroyed. I was wrongly advised to resign by a union that had representatives embedded in management. I was too unwell to pursue any means of recompense.
Losing my career lead to my first Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy attack. This one was nearly fatal.
I have suffered from Complex Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) for at least 20 years as a direct result of this. Only finally receiving help for the condition last year after years of medical denial because the establishment at the time did not understand the connection between non-life threatening instances and PTSD despite mounting evidence. Thankfully it is much better understood today.
The bullies took my career, my confidence, my identity, my physical health, my mental health and now they have taken my relationship and my home. My ex being unable to cope with my PTSD and reacting to it in a way that was making it worse in a cycle that just destroyed our relationship.
Now, unable to work and unable to claim benefits for the moment, unwell, terrified and struggling at times to cope with basic life things, I am facing this horrendous situation that is so daunting there are times that my thoughts go to a very dark place.
I never imagined any of this would happen to me. I was on top of the world back in the early 2000s. The best time of my entire life.
Maybe I deserved this. Maybe I did something terrible in a former life. I don't know. I can't make sense of it.
I don't want to give up just yet. I want to fight back. I just have so little actual physical support. PTSD can cause isolation. Distrust. Withdrawal.
I have lost my few best friends since moving to Scotland for numerous reasons outside of my control. My family are 300 miles away and offer just loving thoughts. I am on my own.
On Friday I will be completely on my own for the first time in 20 years. This time without the confidence and abilities I had back then. I have to try and find them but without safety, comfort and familiarity I face an impossible task. It can take monumental effort just to cook a simple meal. PTSD is a terrible thing to have.
I am sharing my story as I don't know when or how I will return to Flickr.
Photography has been my recovery. My saviour from PTSD. An adrenaline kick from street photography, the excitement of the edit when you return home. Sharing my photographs with you and taking time to enjoy your photographs. The Flickr routine has kept my sanity and been an important part of my day for years now. I fully intend to return but the odds are against me at least for the moment.
Some of you wanted to help by donating towards the expensive Internet costs I will face in temporary housing.
I hate asking for help but please know that I am incredibly grateful for the help that I have received, both financially and otherwise. Just knowing that people care is a help in itself.

Without being conscious, it is not possible to do the tasks they do. Level of consciousness may vary form animals to animals, but all sentient animals are aware of their self and the environment they are in.
Consciousness may be gained from informations we get during our development and/ or it may be instinctive. Body of animals and ours have the capacity to create the consciousness. The.most important is the body ( hardware), not the software.
Our body has developed according “ the tree of life “. Consciousness has been a necessity for further development of living organisms. Feelings and emotions, consciousness and atoms are main things in our universe. Aliens in our universe must have them if they exist. High level of senses and some dominating feelings and emotions and also high level of life-experiences may contribute high level of consciousness. Body's state in creation of high level of consciousness may be very relevant too.
Some aliens might have higher capability to create high level of consciousness. Proper dominating feelings and emotions, high level senses and high level of life experiences may also effect the level of their consciousness.

It has been over two thousand years to date since the Lord Jesus Christ came to the earth and was nailed to the cross in the likeness of sinful flesh to serve as a sin offering for us all. The disposition of love, mercy and forbearance of the Lord Jesus Christ is far beyond the reach of us corrupt humans. Therefore, His name was spread and praised and has become known to all, and many people have belief in and reverence for Him. Here is a question, God is so supreme, so why would He deliberately choose such a normal, ordinary form to come amongst man and perform His work? Merry Christmas !!!
Christmas is the most joyful holiday during the whole year and it’s being globalized. I believe that Santa Claus who is riding his sleigh in the sky with his flying reindeers and carrying a bag full of gifts for children, and laughing in a way sounds like “Ho Ho Ho”— is the most impressive picture of Christmas people are familiar with for everybody in the world. Children are looking forward to opening presents which was put under the fancy, decorated Christmas tree every year, this has been a family tradition and most of the families.. Also, the contemporary Christmas songs like, “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”, “Jingle Bells”, “Frosty the Snowman”, “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” and so on are catchy in every corner of the world……

I don't know what trigger me to decide flying over Annapurna Circuit ~ Himalaya Range with ultra light flight. I just realized that this small plane has no window at all while I had confirmed and paid for my solo flying. Because one of the passenger waiving me when I still in the top of World Peace Pagoda ( that was 1 hour before my turn ).
This picture taken from the wing of my ultra light flight and the pilot is Russian who can't speak English at all. But this is my unforgettable life experience. I feel the strong wind and shaking in my skin. 1 hour experience, I really wish to touch down ASAP, What I was thinking in the TOP if I die now I will die happily...

One of the photos taken during a break with some colleagues in Wetzlar, Germany, in the Leitz Park, the headquarters of Leica Camera AG; fantastic experience, five days of intense training course!
We met this lady in South Tyrol. She´s 93 years old and mother of 11 children. A daily sixty-minute walk keeps her fit.
Synopsis:

Checking Aberdeen Harbour Scotland website for expected arrivals I noticed this beauty was due to visit this evening Friday 5th July 2019 from Torshavn, Faroe Islands , I drove down to the Beach Boulevard a few minutes away from my home, I could see her bobbing away in the distance awaiting authorisation to enter the harbour .
30 minutes or so passed and she finally had the right to enter,I parked my car and stood below the Marine Operations Centre on the North Pier, she sailed in slowly allowing me to capture many shots and a few videos of her arrival, posting a few of my favourites I captured.

I went past Woodlands School in New Westminster on my way home after visit to Riverview Hospital. Woodlands is another famous abandoned building in Vancouver area.
Woodlands School was previously a residence for developmental disabled and it is now waiting to be demolished. Before 1950 it was a provincial hospital for the insane.
There is only one lonely building left on the site. It is fenced off and no access is allowed. We can only see it in a distance. I found it standing with the reflection in the water puddle.
We are reflecting on the abandoned houses and thinking why are they so attractive to photographers?
I think it is because photographers like to capture passage of time, the history and life experiences. And there are so much of these elements trapped in these empty buildings and houses.

Checking Aberdeen Harbour Scotland website for expected arrivals I noticed this beauty was due to visit this evening Friday 5th July 2019 from Torshavn, Faroe Islands , I drove down to the Beach Boulevard a few minutes away from my home, I could see her bobbing away in the distance awaiting authorisation to enter the harbour .
30 minutes or so passed and she finally had the right to enter,I parked my car and stood below the Marine Operations Centre on the North Pier, she sailed in slowly allowing me to capture many shots and a few videos of her arrival, posting a few of my favourites I captured.

Tall Ship Blue Clipper was built in 1991 at Feab Marstrandsverken in Sweden.
She was owned by the famous brandy company Hennessy. In 1872, the ship Alfred brought the first load of Cognac from France to Shanghai.
In 1992, with the same name and painted white, Tall Ship Blue Clipper repeated this historic voyage.

It was gone 11 a.m. on the morning of October 8, 2011 and I was just preparing lunch at home, when suddenly the phone rang. As soon as I answered it, the person calling said anxiously, “Your Lanlan has been in a car accident and they’re trying to save her at the county hospital. You’d best get here as soon as you can!” Hearing this, I felt a loud buzzing in my head, and before I’d said anything, the other person hung up. After I’d put the phone down, I just stood there for a while, thinking: “My daughter went out on her bicycle this morning to run some errands. How could she have been in a car accident? It’s just a prank call, isn’t it? But their tone didn’t sound like they were trying to trick me….” I didn’t have time to think any more, so I stopped what I was doing and left the house. I hurriedly waved down a cab and rushed to the county hospital. I was so worried as I sat in the cab that I clenched my fists tightly together, and I just kept looking out the window. I felt totally confused and upset and I couldn’t stop thinking: “How badly hurt is my daughter? Where has she been hurt? Is her life in danger? She’s only 17. She must be really scared being in the hospital on her own….” The more I thought about it, the more panicky I got, and I couldn’t calm down. I wanted to be there instantly by my daughter’s side to see what exactly the situation was. In my helplessness, I thought of God, and then quickly I called on God in my heart: “O God! I hear that my daughter has been in a car accident. My heart is in turmoil and I’m really worried, and I don’t know how my daughter is right now or how bad her injuries are. O God! I ask that You protect my heart so that I may keep calm before You.
