This little modesty sprouted quite lonely from the middle of Frankenia laevis and it took me until just now to be able to identify it with any degree of certainty.
It seemed somehow familiar from my distant childhood, which is why the penny finally dropped: it is the dwarf form of the snapdragon, known in German as "Klaffmäulchen".

P.S.: I love the sharpness distribution at the base of the plant, so not even cropped to my usual 4:5 ratio.
Dieser kleine Bursche ersproß ganz einsam aus der Mitte der Frankenia laevis und ich habe bis soeben gebraucht, sie überhaupt mit annähernder Sicherheit bestimmen zu können.
Aus meiner fernen Kindheit kam sie mir irgendwie bekannt vor, daher fiel auch letztendlich der Groschen: es ist die Zwergform des Löwenmäulchens, man nennt sie im Deutschen „Klaffmäulchen“.

PS: Ich liebe den Schärfeverlauf am Fuß der Pflanze, deshalb nicht einmal auf mein übliches 4:5 Format beschnitten.

Like a large family next to the road, waiting for the bus. This were my spontaneous thoughts, when I passed this group of trees.
Here you see one of those subjects what found me, without me looking for it. This discovering and letting myself be surprised is, what I love most at photographing. I'm walking around aim- and planless, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere around me and feel, how the calmness is more and more infiltration me and taking possession of me. Meanwhile my head is permanently moving from one side to the other for assimilate everything nature want to shot me.
Wie eine große Familie die am Strassenrand steht und auf den Bus wartet. Das waren meine spontanen Gedanken, als ich an dieser Baumgruppe vorbei gekommen bin.
Ihr sehr hier wieder eins der Motive, welches mich gefunden hat, ohne dass ich danach gesucht hätte. Dieses Entdecken und überraschen lassen liebe ich beim Fotografieren am meissten. Ich wandere völlig ziel- und planlos herum, geniesse die friedliche Atmosphäre um mich herum und spüre, wie die Ruhe immer mehr in mich eindringt und von mir Besitz ergreift. Währenddessen schwenkt mein Kopf ununterbrochen von einer Seite zur andere hin und her um alles aufzunehmen, was die Natur mir zeigen möchte.

Liebe Flickr-Freunde, nach einer längeren Flickr-Pause und meinem 2. Island-Urlaub melde ich mich wieder zurück. Ein weiteres Mal hat mich dieses unglaubliche Land fasziniert, wobei der Schwerpunkt meiner Reise diesmal der Norden war. Ich werde in der kommenden Zeit sicherlich einige meiner Eindrücke hier präsentieren und möchte allen Natur- und Foto-Interessierten dieses einzigartige Land ans Herz legen.
Dear Flickr friends, after a longer break from Flickr and my 2nd Iceland holiday, I'll get back to you. Once again I was fascinated by this incredible country, with the focus of my trip this time being the North.
