Not mentioned is that the elevators don't wait more than about two seconds for people to get on before the doors close and the elevators now randomly stop at unrequested floors on the way to where you want to go.
The sign above the call button was the first iteration; the one beside it is the more nuanced explanation. At this rate there will be an article on Wikipedia about the Adams Building elevators. The fact that the second announcement was encapsulated in plastic makes me think that perhaps they anticipate this situation a bit longer than they let on.
