I chose this mixer as a subject mainly because it has shades of grey, white and even black, meaning it would look nice and more natural when converted to black and white. By photographing this subject in black and white, I was able to enhance the overall brightness of the top part of the mixer and darken the border of the image. The fact that it is in black and white gives the viewer the chance of seeing the actual colors, instead of it looking a little blue or yellow because of the white balance when taken in color. The true blacks are mainly the levelers and the whites are where the light hits the mixer the most.
Jackson is playing with the leveler once we finished setting the posts. He called it a plane-train tunnel. Who needs transformers when you have an imagination like that!
