One of the founding archbishops of York blessing the city and holding a model of the Minster in his left hand. Fairfax was less zealous than most in the destruction of religious property and icons. In other areas groups of Levelers smashed statues, stained glass and other religious symbols thought to be too "Papist" and/or close to idols... This is the last of the 10, Fuji FP-100B film, shot with a modified holga and modified holgaroid; aperture set at f/8, bulb mode. Expsosure time (incidence light) determined with Sekonic L-308S light meter. I wish I had a leveler. Most of my pictures in this set weren't as leveled as I would have liked.
The Vine Side Table was inspired by furnishings of the Art Deco period. Art Deco was an influential visual arts design style that first appeared in France just before World War I and began flourishing internationally from the 1920s thru the 40s. It took its name from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (International Exposition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts) held in Paris in 1925. It is an eclectic style that combines traditional craft motifs with Machine Age imagery and materials. The style is often characterized by rich colors and bold geometric shapes. The Art Deco movement flourished during the interwar years when rapid industrialization was transforming culture. One of its major attributes was an embrace of technology. It has been defined as an assertively modern style that emphasizes symmetry rather than asymmetry, and the rectilinear rather than the curvilinear. During its heyday, Art Deco represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress.
With its European style understated elegance, the Vine Side Table makes an exceptional accent piece for upscale residential and hospitality interiors. Robust metal construction allows it to support a heavy glass or stone top. Three polished bronze glides are provided which also serve as levelers – a useful feature when the floor is uneven. This unique table is offered in a variety of finishes and accents. Custom sizing is available.
The Sunflower Writing Table design was influenced by an antique table found in a museum in London. It is an example of the Aesthetic style of furniture which uses designs and decoration inspired by Japanese sources. The sunflower motif is also significant in Greek Mythology. Apollo was the son of Zeus, the king of all Gods and Men. Apollo was the Sun God. He had golden hair and was extremely handsome. A water nymph called Clytie was immensely in love with Apollo. She would watch him with unblinking eyes as he moved across the sky. Unfortunately, Apollo ignored Clytie and never returned her love. Apollo was in love with Daphne, the beautiful daughter of a water God. Unfortunately for Apollo, Daphne did not return his love. When Apollo tried to forcefully convince Daphne, she asked her father for help who turned her into a plant. Apollo was heartbroken and his sorrow knew no bounds. Clytie continued to watch Apollo as he passed through the sky. She sat on a rock for nine days without food and water and just kept looking at Apollo as he passed in the sky. Eventually, she was turned into a flower, which came to be known as the Sunflower. The foregoing inspired the award-winning designer Shah Gilani, ASFD, to make this metal and wood writing table. It is offered in a variety of finishes and accents. Four polished bronze glides are provided which also serve as levelers – a useful feature to have when the floor is uneven. Custom sizing is available.
This 110,000 SF building sits on 21.71 acres in Kingsport, Sullivan County, TN. The building features 90,000 manufacturing SF, 20,000 office SF, and 13,500 SF partial enclosure. July 1, 2018 - Goðafoss Waterfall known as "the waterfall of the gods" is located on the Skjálfandafljót river in the Bárðardalur district of the northeast region of Iceland. The waterfall got its name during year 999 or 1000 when Christianity was declared the official religion of Iceland. After that the local Lawspeker threw his statues of the Norse pagan gods into the waterfall. Hence the name ‘waterfall of gods’.
I bought a new tripod before the trip and hauled it to get great motion shots of waterfalls, however I forgot to turn my lens stabilization off so I wasn't happy with my resulting photographs. I also lost one of the leveler glides!
