Arkham Asylum MOC - the ultimate extension of set 10937
This MOC started its life as a simple 10937 set. I quickly went to expanding it as many have done by going sideways. I then built on a basement level and made it an enclosed building (as seen in my photo back in 2013. The final version presents an impressive front with landscaped garden with waterway, large double sided spiral staircase, lots of curves and of course those man-eating plants! The rear gives you an excellent view inside the asylum with plenty of play and display opportunities with a fully tiled floor and basement level and 'electro shock therapy' room.
This MOC spreads over 2 x 3.5 baseplates (64 studs x 112 studs). Only one official set was purchased - the rest was bricklinked at reasonable expense as, at the time, many of the parts were unique to this set and needed to be purchased in bulk from OS. Brick count would work out to be roughly 5 or 6 sets without the landscaping (which required a lot of bricks/plates too).
This MOC has been featured at Brickvention twice and several other significant shows, having won a Best in Show award at Bayside Bricks in 2014.
Custom Lego Minifig of 'The Stig' from BBc's Topgear TV show. Custom waterslide decals and also custom helmet. I used the standard Lego motorbike helmet as a base and built onto that.

Along with Spencer, Diesel is the engine I'm most proud of, and perhaps moreso as he is completely my own design. Originally designed with a cheese slope pattern on the sides, this was ditched in favour of stickers due to the lack of parts (dark tan clips don't exist) but also space, as this allowed me to also fit an M motor and gearing to make his claw spin around!

The Desert Fox MR (military response) CAIM or "D-Fox'' for short, is the first of its kind. Strong, smart, agile, all-terrain, and programmed with PM (prime medic) software to aid injured soldiers or pedestrians. The D-Fox, as well as all other CAIM AI, was designed to be completely sentient, having a full range of emotions, a personality, individuality, a sense of morality, common sense, the list goes on. This decision was made when the creator, Garry Dwite (yes that's how his name is spelt), gained worries that the humans working with the CAIMs would feel as though they were replacing humans. Giving them humanity would comfort the humans as well as help them co-exist, allowing them to make friends, engage in conversation and even, in Dwite’s words: “become a working part of society”. Furthermore, they’re capable of disobeying direct orders if necessary (or if it feels put off by said direct orders). incase of hijacking/apprehension, all MR units are programmed with knowledge of human psychology allowing them to manipulate their way out of said conditions.
this build is 100% buildable in real life (with some re-spraying)

Over the next few weeks I will be posting a new set of Gears of War customs that I've been working on. I've been a big fan of the games since GOW was first released and still play horde in GOW2 a couple times a week. Of course, Hazel's awesome custom armor and weapons really make it possible to do these sort of builds.
I've been slowly collecting a few of Hazel's GOW pieces for awhile now, so I figured it was time for me to get the paint out and incorporate my own ideas to kind of personalize the look of the items and create some unique characters. I know a lot of others have already done Gears customs over the past couple years - for me, better late than never I guess!

The Tyrant is a MRAP derived from the HMMWV platform, supplied to the Plighia army, as a means of support for special units. Compared to that platform, the Tyrant is heavily armored and features a more powerful hybrid engine. The vehicle can accommodate 5 soldiers and their equipment, including one in the turret. The chassis has been lengthened in order to obtain a more capacious cockpit. The Tyrant is equipped with smoke launchers, and reactive armor on the doors, also the body is painted with a special paint that makes it invisible to thermal detectors. The vehicle is equipped with a front sensor module with thermal detector and advanced optics. In addition, there is a laser warning system. Conversely, given its weight and equipment, the Tyrant is not as fast as a HMMWV, while maintaining the same agility and drive, reaching 90 km/h on the road. These features make it capable of operating in any condition on any terrain. It is mainly used for high risk SpecOps missions, evac, reconnaissance and penetration into enemy terrain. Finally, the Tyrant can easily be upgraded with other modifications.
I've found this rare photo of a Moc I made in 2008, you can't see it very well but this was a cafè made in the modular style, I decided to share because this photo shows the beginning of the Indiana Jones videogame influence in my mocs: the car was a mix of the cars from the original adventures videogame!
New Wrist Gauntlets Shapeways Prototypes came out very nicely.
Featuring the Plasma Shield variation, the wrist gauntlet pieces are still there just behind the shields
