Tofu does have legs, short legs but they exist. In winter they tend to disappear under his long winter coat and sometimes you only see his paws. The stone cat wasn't impressed and proudly showed her own leg which she grooms endlessly. :)
This Burrowing Owl stuck out a wing and lifted it with his foot with an interesting look on his face. I believe she was showing the owlets her wings as if to tell them how to fly. I’ll post an image of the owlet’s response.
One from a quick drive out to Morecambe in the hope of a bit of a moody sunset. It clouded over well before the sun went down, but I donned my wellies and tramped out over the mud and sands, as the tide was well out.
There are a few old fishing boats here on the beach and I saw this boat with "Art" written on the side and some mannikins legs sticking out of the top.Someone with a sense of humour.
The old chain looked interesting as a lead in and I thought it was worthy of a shot. Whilst the sky did lack the sunset colour, the moody conditions certainly helped.

Why birds stand on one leg , I am still trying to work that one out - yes one leg gets a rest , but then the other one gets double the work and has to work harder keeping balance !!
I am also not sure what they are doing with their feather sticking out every which way .
If they do overbalance the landing will be soft - but wet !!
Trying out the new reflection removal tool in PS... Looks like it has potential, won't be shy about not having a polarizer.

On April 29 of this year, just before turnstones migrate to the far north, on the same part of the same beach I saw an individual with these same colored legs and bill, which are very, very unusual for this species. I am assuming it is the same bird. See this photo: www.flickr.com/photos/marlinharms/52040537111/
Which brings to my mind the question of how many of the other Black Turnstones, which seem to me to look identical to each other, are the same individuals we saw last year, before spring and fall migration. And the same question goes for other species as well. Of course there is some mortality and, after the breeding season, some recruitment. But still, the question lingers.
Later note: my friend, Kaaren Perry, saw "the same" bird on the same beach on Dec. 7, 2021.

This guy is sick of waiting to finally transform himself into a butterfly and be able to fly. Using some balloons he tries to take off from the ground and see the world from above ...
But obviously he miscalculated the correct size and number of balloons to get into the air. Try again or keep on waiting buddy! ;-)
