I've wanted to try some different locations along this road for a while. Taken in a series of photos, merged together to increase the amount of traffic.
A couple miles west of the previous picture finds RUPO coming up over a little hill as they cross the Bernie Hartford Road in Leeds. BM assigned GP40 326 is leading a pair of MEC siblings, the 345 and 306 with about fifty cars on this gloomy autumn day.
ST RUPO jumps on the Freight Main Line, known as the "Back Road" during the Maine Central, passing the decommissioned searchlight at the west end of Leeds Junction.
Leeds Corn Exchange is a Victorian building which was completed in 1863. Designed by Cuthbert Brodrick, a Hull architect. It is a Grade 1 listed building. In the late 1980's it was converted into a retail facility. After further restoration the Corn Exchange contains a number of independent retailers and food outlets. It is described as one of only three remaining Corn Exchanges still functioning as a centre for trade in Britain although not as a Corn Exchange. (1563)
A very attractive grey livery for this all electric bus in Leeds.
A wedding warehouse is a new one on me!
The Leeds and Liverpool Canal is a canal in Northern England, linking the cities of Leeds and Liverpool. Over a distance of 127 miles, it crosses the Pennines, and includes 91 locks on the mainline
I visited Leeds castle today with Sarah Fraser63 and John her brilliant other half and we both took a shot of this Statue in the grounds with different lens and styles this was my shot
With conversation temporarily suspended, a pair of old-hand train crew can't help but get drawn to the sight (and the sound) of GB Railfreight 'Shed' 66708 rumbling through the centre of Leeds station with the 9.53am Hunslet Tilcon - Arrow Quarry (6M31) discharged hoppers.
Their fascination is perhaps no surprise either - heck, after more than 50 years of watching freight trains even I still get mesmerised by this stuff!
Not a rail photography trip today but rather a social visit to meet up with an old college mate for a bite to eat. I pocketed the little Sony, just in case, and got lucky with timings as well as the gap in the cloud.
I've left the tones a little dark to retain the richness.

This is another example of Victorian architecture at its finest. Beautifully preserved and well worth a visit whether shopping or just to view the structure, this building will not disappoint.
ST RUPO rolls on down the Rumford Branch behind three GP40s as it crosses the Dead River near Leeds, Maine. The right-of-way dates back to a Portland gauge railroad chartered in 1848 to build from Farmington to what is now Leeds Junction. Maine Central acquired the railroad in 1911 and pulled the rails north of Livermore Falls in 1974. It was a fabric of a large network of Maine Central branches that served Maine's enormous timber industry, and the paper and sawmills along the Rumford Branch remain a major source of revenue for the Maine Central's sucessors.

This is a long exposure of the A58M (Leeds Inner Ring Road) as it passes through and under the centre of Leeds alongside Leeds University. Taken on Sunday evening but still busy.
Leeds Castle is a castle in Kent, England, 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Maidstone. It is built on islands in a lake formed by the River Len to the east of the village of Leeds and is a historic Grade I listed estate.
A castle has existed on the site since 857.[1] In the 13th century, it came into the hands of King Edward I, for whom it became a favourite residence; in the 16th century, Henry VIII used it as a dwelling for his first wife, Catherine of Aragon.
