Leather And Lace

Is love so fragile

And the heart so hollow

Shatter with words

Impossible to follow

You're saying I'm fragile

I try not to be

I search only

For something

I can't see

I have my own life

And I am stronger

Than you know

But I carry this feeling

When you walked into my house

That you won't be walking out the door

Still I carry this feeling

When you walked into my house

That you won't be walking out the door

Lovers forever

Face to face

My city your mountains

Stay with me stay

I need you to love me

I need you today

Give to me your leather

Take from me

My lace

You in the moonlight

With your sleepy eyes

Could you ever love a man like me

And you were right

When I walked into your house

I knew I'd never want to leave

Sometimes I'm a strong man

Sometimes cold and scared

And sometimes I cry

But that time I saw you

I knew with you to light my nights

Somehow I'd get by

Lovers forever

Face to face

My city your mountains

Stay with me stay

I need you to love me

I need you today

Give to me your leather

Take from me

My lace

Lovers forever

Face to face

My city your mountains

Stay with me stay

I need you to love me

I need you today

Give to me your leather

Take from me

My lace

Take from me

My lace

Macro Mondays (02/05/2022)

Created for Macro Mondays - Leather

Measured for 3" rule

Silver Heart & leather ties

Little leather pouch, just big enough for 2 or 3 coins. For certain occasions I would wear it like a pendant (long ago now) to have some emergency money on me.

I did not clean it, maybe I should have. The coins still inside were discoloured blue for some reason. Go figure...

Sassi from Sydney, a Jan McLean Lollipop doll poses on a black background.

I have changed her black patent leather slacks for a brightly colored rainbow skirt for today’s Smile on Saturday theme of bright colors on a black background. 💙💚💜❤️

A collection of antique leather buttons. Very weathered and worn the textures are so intricate.

One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Leather"

Shot with a (Tomioka) "E18C 35 mm F 4" lens on a Canon EOS R5.

Hand made Bleu de Chauffe bags are always a pleasure for the eye. The light of the late afternoon sun emphasized the curves and the texture of the leather and I couldn't resist taking a quick snap.

The design and leatherwork was made by my daughter

cute yellow leather flower pendant. Macro Mondays. Theme: leather

A cricket ball with a suitable support :-) I got the ball some 15 years ago at the Portobello market (London)

This leather lace loop is used to hang one of the gardening tools, background is the leather gloves.

The history of the belt goes back to the Bronze Age, a period in prehistory from around 2100 BC to 750 BC. Both men and women wore unequal belts, made from a piece of leather and intended to keep clothing in place around the waist. A simple button is placed, quite different from the metal buckles that belts are equipped with today.

This tiny leather bound album contains the memories of my mother's 80th birthday - photographed and prepared by my very talented sister in law!

I think it's safe to say that my husband has not gotten a new belt any time recently - lots of gritty leather detail here!

A small 'ideas' notebook that I always have to hand. It has a leather case stamped with a maker's mark.

The case has a beaten copper panel on the front, and was hand-made by my metalsmith friend Laurie. It was an adventure into working with leather and metals together.

Shot with the Lensbaby Double Glass optic and +4 macro converter.

Sunset view towards Leather Tor from Sharpitor

Leather keyhole from a Biedermeier drawer (early 19th century)

I found an old 6x6 folding camera at an antique store. A Makinet Six that was meant for 120 film. I shot a roll of film in it but the light leaks put a foggy haze on all the frames. I didn't buy it to use anyway. It was made between 1934 and 1939 and it would be a little too optomistic to expect it to actually work well. I bought it more as a decoration to set on my camera collection shelf. I cropped my photo to a square that covers a 6cm x 6cm area and converted to black & white. Although a color roll film was available in 1935 (Dufaycolor) black & white was still faster and cheaper and would have been far more popular with the average photographer.

See the camera and case here.

HMM to all and as always thank you for any views, faves and possibly comments.

This plant has thick leaves, with an almost suede finish which makes for a very grippy surface for water droplets. These droplets appear to defy gravity, clinging to a steep slope. They were entirely natural - from an rain during the night, still not evaporated in the early morning.
