Leather And Lace
Is love so fragile
And the heart so hollow
Shatter with words
Impossible to follow
You're saying I'm fragile
I try not to be
I search only
For something
I can't see
I have my own life
And I am stronger
Than you know
But I carry this feeling
When you walked into my house
That you won't be walking out the door
Still I carry this feeling
When you walked into my house
That you won't be walking out the door
Lovers forever
Face to face
My city your mountains
Stay with me stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
Give to me your leather
Take from me
My lace
You in the moonlight
With your sleepy eyes
Could you ever love a man like me
And you were right
When I walked into your house
I knew I'd never want to leave
Sometimes I'm a strong man
Sometimes cold and scared
And sometimes I cry
But that time I saw you
I knew with you to light my nights
Somehow I'd get by
Lovers forever
Face to face
My city your mountains
Stay with me stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
Give to me your leather
Take from me
My lace
Lovers forever
Face to face
My city your mountains
Stay with me stay
I need you to love me
I need you today
Give to me your leather
Take from me
My lace
Take from me
My lace
Take from me
My lace
Little leather pouch, just big enough for 2 or 3 coins. For certain occasions I would wear it like a pendant (long ago now) to have some emergency money on me.
I did not clean it, maybe I should have. The coins still inside were discoloured blue for some reason. Go figure...

One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Leather"
Shot with a (Tomioka) "E18C 35 mm F 4" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
Hand made Bleu de Chauffe bags are always a pleasure for the eye. The light of the late afternoon sun emphasized the curves and the texture of the leather and I couldn't resist taking a quick snap.

A cricket ball with a suitable support :-) I got the ball some 15 years ago at the Portobello market (London)
This leather lace loop is used to hang one of the gardening tools, background is the leather gloves.
The history of the belt goes back to the Bronze Age, a period in prehistory from around 2100 BC to 750 BC. Both men and women wore unequal belts, made from a piece of leather and intended to keep clothing in place around the waist. A simple button is placed, quite different from the metal buckles that belts are equipped with today.

This tiny leather bound album contains the memories of my mother's 80th birthday - photographed and prepared by my very talented sister in law!
Haven't had time to take any new pics so here is another leather skirt one. I guess I was trying to show a little leg in this one LOL!!!
Did get out this pass weekend and had my ears pierced, looking forward to getting some nice earrings now!!!!

These are a couple of my wife’s leather craft test pieces, plus a couple tools of the trade!
A small 'ideas' notebook that I always have to hand. It has a leather case stamped with a maker's mark.
The case has a beaten copper panel on the front, and was hand-made by my metalsmith friend Laurie. It was an adventure into working with leather and metals together.
Shot with the Lensbaby Double Glass optic and +4 macro converter.

I found an old 6x6 folding camera at an antique store. A Makinet Six that was meant for 120 film. I shot a roll of film in it but the light leaks put a foggy haze on all the frames. I didn't buy it to use anyway. It was made between 1934 and 1939 and it would be a little too optomistic to expect it to actually work well. I bought it more as a decoration to set on my camera collection shelf. I cropped my photo to a square that covers a 6cm x 6cm area and converted to black & white. Although a color roll film was available in 1935 (Dufaycolor) black & white was still faster and cheaper and would have been far more popular with the average photographer.
See the camera and case here.
HMM to all and as always thank you for any views, faves and possibly comments.
For Looking Close…on Friday an embossed leather hand-tooled purse from Mexico. My brother bought this purse in 1968 for our mother. He was in the Army at that time, on R & R in Mexico before going to Vietnam. Later my mom passed the purse on to me.
