Im August 2016 fand die Veranstaltung „Autofreies Taubertal“ statt. DB Regio steuerte aus diesem Anlaß eine n-Wagen-Sandwichgarnitur mit 218 499 und 436 bei, die den ganzen Tag über zwischen Schrozberg und Lauda.
