Of all the pictures I took in Kenya, this definitely came out as the most artistic. I was returning to breakfast, looked back from the direction whence I had came, and was immediately struck by the well-composed minimalism of this scene. So naturally I pointed the camera at it.
With the breakfast already evoking the colonial past, my mind was in that frame, and as such to me this scene evokes the European dream of Africa—the modern vehicle reconciled with this ancient, primal landscape, the sense of peace and repose conveyed by the two native guides taking a break outside the car. The East Africa conveyed to thousands of readers who could never expect to visit it themselves in Hemingway's "The Green Hills of Africa", in Karen Blixen's "Out of Africa", in "White Mischief" and so many other narratives, is adjacent here at least conceptually as it can never be spatially or temporarily, if indeed it ever was outside of the construct of literature.

تبسم لسواقه سواره على سواره
تويوتا ولا غيره ولا يصغر النيسان
من الله عليه من الحسد ستر وستاره
يسوقه رجلً جايزً له وهو طربان
غرامه ولو كثر التعب قضبة الطاره
ولد راعي الرمله اذا عدو الفرسان
تنقاة من بين السياير واختاره

The Siloli Desert is a desert in the southwest department of Potosí, Bolivia. It is characterized by its rocky formations, resulting from the strong winds that the region has. It is considered as one of the most arid in the world due to the low precipitation in the zone. It is usually integrated into tourist routes, since it is the gateway to the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve and in its vicinity are the famous Colored Lagoons and the Salar de Uyuni.
It is considered as part of the Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world.
C507, 4908 and C505 head away from Gunning, on the start of their descent towards Fish River with loaded grain train 3248 from Yanco to Allied Pinnacle at Maldon.

Toyota GX Landcruiser 2020 model.
Colour is sand.
The red is a huge bow on the bonnet.
New work vehicle.
Traveled around Carson City and found this place high up on the mountainside. To give perspective over those mountains lies Lake Tahoe.
This one is configured as a RHD model, probably an JDM vehicle imported under the 25 year rule.
I believe this is part of the J70 series, the specific model designation might be J76 but corrections by knowledgeable Land Cruiser experts are welcome.
Slightly stylized landcruiser, modeled after those left behind by coalition forces in Afghanistan. Really pleased how this came out, features fully functioning spring-loaded suspension (video soon)! Will be present in a coming WID scene.

This just may be the nicest Land Cruiser I've ever seen. It must have been restored, because it was just about perfect inside and out.
Always pleasing to see these around, I imagine they're incredibly capable.
This one went through its MoT just a few days ago with a few advisories but no failures.
