On the road to Puno: the lake (Laguna Lagunillas) is one of the highest lakes in the Andean plateaus, located in the department of Puno at a height of about 4,174 m. There are 4 small islands, its dimensions are 18.6 km long and 5.8 km wide and a maximum area of 66 km ² with a maximum depth of 47.6 m. It is a place for all the fauna of the region, especially the pink flamingo.

Laguna Glaciar is a lake in the Larecaja Province, La Paz Department, Bolivia. It located in Cordillera Real, in the Illampu - Janq'u Uma massif, at an elevation of 5038 m. Illampu is the fourth highest mountain in Bolivia. It is located in the northern section of the Cordillera Real, part of the Andes, east of Lake Titicaca. It lies just north of the slightly higher Janq'u Uma, near the town of Sorata. Way up to this lake is usually divided into 3 days (1st: Sorata 2678m - Chillata Lagoon 4200m; 2nd: Chillata Lagoon - Laguna Glaciar - Chillata Lagoon; 3rd: Coming back). Strenuous.

Laguna Miñiques lies at an altitude of 4,120 metres (13,520 ft) in the Chilean Andes. It belongs to the Lagunas Altiplánicas (Altiplanic Lagoons) and is located about 110 km south-east of San Pedro de Atacama.

Colours don't lack in the southeast of Bolivia!
After visiting the White and the Green Lagoons, we got to this viewpoint where we could glimpse the red lagoon - Laguna Colorada.
Algae and mineral sediments give the red-blood tones to water when under the direct sunlight. One of these minerals is borax, a sodium compound typical of salt lakes.
The 60 km² lagoon is only 1 meter deep and lies in the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve, embedded in a desolate desert of salt and rock. For flocks of flamingos, the bright-red salt lake offers a rich source of food. Llamas and alpacas are also seen around the lagoon.
The spaces are enormous.
There is a road on the right side of this image where we can see a vehicle and its trails of dust. If you can't see it, don't worry, it's just too small :)

Mojanda es un estratovolcán inactivo de la Cordillera Oriental de los Andes en el norte de Ecuador. Una cumbre de caldera, producida por una erupción pliniana que marcó el fin de la actividad de Mojanda hace 200.000 años, está ocupada por tres lagos de cráter: Karikucha (el más grande), Yanakucha y Warmikucha. En 2002 recibió el estado de parque protegido. (Inf. de Wikipedia).

Glacial lake at the end of an epic day hike below the iconic peak of Cerro Torre. Most of the lake surface had a thin layer of ice preventing reflections, except at this end of the lake. Happy Sunday to everyone.

Laguna Terraplén, near Trevelin and Los Alerces National Park, in the Argentine province of Chubut, offers a spectacular view of the Patagonian Andes. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, native forests and open grasslands, the lagoon reflects the changing colours of the sky and mountains. This peaceful landscape is a remarkable example of the natural beauty of northwestern Patagonia, where the Andes meet the vast landscapes of southern Argentina.
Laguna Miscanti is located in the Atacama Desert, Chile. It is a brackish water lake at 4,300 meters (14,000 feet). To the left is the Miscanti Volcano and to the right is Cerro Miscanti.

J'arrive tout juste de faire un merveilleux voyage en Amérique du sud. Comme j'ai presque toute ma vie fréquenté les paysages côtiers, l'air marin et les plages à perte de vue, cette année je réalise un rêve qui était de visité un endroit extraordinaire au coeur des montagnes. Randonnés et photographies, je peux vous dire que la petite fille timide des îles-de-la-madeleine était très très excitée de découvrir cette fabuleuse région de la Patagonie. Cuernos del Paine, montagnes immenses, les glaciers et ses icebergs turquoise, les contrastes avec la magnifique pampas dorées (prairies) et les 3000 petits guanacos du parc. Je suis définitivement tombé en amour avec cet endroit!
Merci infiniment au guide Miguel qui nous aura permit de faire toutes ces rencontres mémorables et aussi à mon meilleur ami Maxime, sans qui se voyage n'aurait jamais eu lieu! Des moments de qualités avec des partners photos incroyables!

En la localidad albaceteña de Ossa de Montiel, se encuentra parte del Parque Natural Lagunas de Ruidera, siendo una de esas lagunas, la Laguna Batana, que recibe agua de la Laguna Santo Morcillo, llegando a formar cascadas de más de 10 metros de altura en epocas de lluvia y en primavera.
Esta laguna toma su nombre de un batán de construcción antigua que existía al final de la misma.
