In Belgium, the lily of the valley is the symbol of Labour Day, which is celebrated on May 1st - today that is! So I was glad to find some of them flowering in my garden: they look delicate and their scent is so sweet.

Above Grimwith Reservoir the old stone barn stands like a weathered witness, its lintels sagging, its timbers tired, yet still holding the quiet dignity of a life once woven tightly into the rhythms of upland farming; before the reservoir’s expansion in the 1960s—when the original 1860s works were deepened and widened to feed the growing thirst of Yorkshire’s towns—this barn sheltered sheep, tools, and generations of labour shaped by wind, moor‑grass, and the long walk home. Now it leans into the light above the water’s calm, framed by grasses and the low stone wall, a relic half-claimed by time, half‑held by memory, watching the reservoir shimmer where past fields once breathed.

Labour Day (Labor Day in the United States) is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest. For many countries, Labour Day is synonymous with, or linked with, International Workers' Day, which occurs on 1 May.

J'ai pris cette photo avec 300 mm de focale, j'ai aimé le contraste des couleurs entre l'herbe verdoyante et la terre labourée sans oublier la présence d'un agriculteur avec son tracteur entrain de labourer.
When the pandemic started I was so bored I decided to work on some scarves for my work's charity drive in next winter. I pulled out all of my loose yarn and started knitting. I was able to make 4 scarves out of my odds and ends.

I took this photo on my first trip to Cambodia, when I was starting photography, I just got my first dSLR camera and went travelling to Cambodia and by chance ended up at that garbage dump - two ladies from my guesthouse working for an NGO told me to go and see it. So I spent my last few days visiting Stung Meanchey.
I returned to that place a year later to work on my first story.
