Yes that's right, a Chevy LS2 in a Shelby Cobra replica. It isn't stock either, upgraded cams as well as a few other goodies. It puts out over 500 horsepower to the wheels

What happens to a car that is totalled by the insurance company? Here is one example. A 2006 Pontaic GTO rear ended in Ohio and declaired a total loss is sold to a car parts man who takes the wreck and puts it up for sale on the internet. All or parts are for sale. My coworker has a 1964 Chevelle SS with a 283 V-8 that he wants to convert into a screaming combination of restored original and modern muscle car. The engine in this GTO is a Corvette L2 with 400 hp. The engine and six speed transmission are now in the 1964 Chevelle. Modifications required for the insertion have been found on a web site posted by a man who has already accomplished this feat. Drive shaft has to be shortened by about 3" and moifications to the radiator need to be done for everything to fit.

The scrap man in Ohio brought this wreck down to Georgia as part of the sale. He had removed all interior and rear end parts for sale to someone else. Now that the engine and drive train are out the goal is to scrap this body. The salvage yard will not take the salvage title from Ohio as proof that the car is legally owned. He wants a Georgia scrap title. The Georgia DMV requires an inspection of the vehicle before the title can be transferred. The inspector just laughed when he saw what was left to inspect. He refused to do anything because there is nothing to inspect. We asked him if he thought that this car would pass the emissions test? he laughed again. Here is sits and there is no way to get rid of it. Time to get out the cutting tourch and throw away small pieces, we guess. We will solve this one next week by a call to the state DMV official somewhere in Atlanta.

The differences are very visible, although for that kind of money i am very happy with the LS2.

Please do not mind

1) crap lighting, that was the best i could get this day

2) extremely dirty vehicle, i've just went through a "shortcut" around the airport fence
