Charles Mingus Jr. (April 22, 1922 – January 5, 1979) was an American jazz double bassist, pianist, composer and bandleader. His compositions retained the hot and soulful feel of hard bop, drawing heavily from black gospel music and blues, while sometimes containing elements of Third Stream, free jazz, and classical music. He once cited Duke Ellington and church as his main influences.

Charles Mingus (* 22. April 1922 in der US-Militärbasis Nogales, Arizona; †5. Januar 1979 in Cuernavaca, Mexiko) war ein US-amerikanischer Jazz-Kontrabassist sowie Bandleader und gehört zu den bedeutenden Komponisten des modernen Jazz.
Seine Kompositionen basierten auf dem Hard Bop, waren aber beeinflusst von Gospel, Third Stream, Free Jazz und klassischer Musik. Er nannte einmal die Kirche und Duke Ellington als prägende Vorbilder für seine Musik. Mingus legte bei seinen Bands Wert auf die kollektive Improvisation. Er heuerte talentierte und manchmal wenig bekannte Musiker an, um teilweise unkonventionelle Instrumental-Konfigurationen zusammenzustellen. Mingus galt als ein Pionier der Kontrabass-Technik und einer der fähigsten Spieler dieses Instruments. (....) Another early Keith Classic LP. This one has Rod Argent on keyboards .Some arrangements are by Robert Kirkby who also did Nick Drake. Keith Christmas was possibly one of the best of the singer songwriters of the time. A guy who did the 'scene' back in the day once told me that people used to say 'A festival is not a festival if Keith Christmas is'nt there'. Keith played the first Glastonbury . and so on and so on....
Side one of a Camper Van Beethoven Album caught with the Sigma DP3 Merrill. You can even see the notes and tonal fluctuations in the grooves of the last track on side one, "Stairway to Heavan (sic)"
This Bob Dylan Album issued by CBS Stereo on No 62515 was published in Portugal in 1967. The original Album title was "Bringing It All Back Home" why it was re-titled for this market I cannot say. The track listing are the same as the original recording of March 1965

Prismacolor Pencils on White Stonehenge Paper 10" x 14" This 5 year old English Bull Dog is named "LP" for his great "Looks and Personality". He lives with his loving owners in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia. I met LP for the first time when I took photos for his portrait. A real sweetie and very photogenic. Dispite the his large teeth and nails, I don't think he would hurt a flee!!
One respectful old guru monk of Thailand, even PhraBuddhajaoluang PhraPiyamahararth King Rama 5th visited doing dana with Luangpu Preng. The great guru monk for 5 reigns and a disciple of 3 Somdej. Somdej PhraSunkararth (Pae) WatSutat, Somdej PhraWunarut (Heng) WatMahatarth, Somdej PhraBuddhakosarjarn (Jarern) WatKaobarngtrai. Given first rank of PhraKru by King Rama 7th at an age only 31 years old.
Luangpu Preng, one old time guru monk. Success Parean4(Dharma education) in the King Rama 6th's reign, ordained with Somdej PhraWunarut (Heng) of WatMahatarth, continue his dharma studied with Somdej Sukararth Pae at WatSutat bangkok and the 3rd master SomdejPhraBuddhakosarjarn(Jarern) who's also the master of Jaokhun Nor from WatThepsirin. When he was a junior monk, he spended his time studied with Luangpu Sook from Wat Pakrongmakarmtao the guru master of magic spells. Studied Gumatarn-Vipassana meditation from Luangpu Pu WatvIntraviharn, the disciple of Somdej Phraputtajarn Toh Promarangsri. (Gummatarn-Vipassana meditation grant one the long life expand). Luangpu Preng also studied from Luangpor Derm WatNohngpoh and Luangpor Puang WatNonggradhong of Nakhonsawan. At present, the hundred years guru monk are famous, spended his whole life in the monk hood with strict dharma practise, well-known as one respectful monk of Thailand. His amulets are precious, strong blessing and recommend.
