A tiny and fairly inaccessible cove below the coastguard lookout at Gwennap Head. I've never really noticed it before as this was a new stretch of coast path to me. A lovely bright, cold winter sunset.

The Loe, also known as Loe Pool, is the largest natural freshwater lake (50 hectares (120 acres)) in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The earliest recorded appearance of this simple name form was in 1337, when it was called "La Loo", but is mentioned as 'the lake' in 1302; Situated between Porthleven and Gunwalloe and downstream of Helston, it is separated from Mount's Bay by the shingle bank of Loe Bar.

…… Another shot from Feock, this delightful little hamlet up the Carrick Roads - the stretch of water between Falmouth & St Mawes here we are looking out to open sea. This was the view of Loe Beach as we had morning Coffee (and gorgeous Banana Cake!) This Lady’s Gig had just come in, a nice quiet spot unspoilt, and off the usual tourist map. Alan:-)…….

Looking down to Loe Bar after a long walk looking for, but not finding much in the way of wildlife, thankfully and as usual I was loaded up to the gunnels and had my Landscape kit with me so didn't go home empty handed :) Taken on 25/05/2015.

Since moving to Cornwall, I’ve swam at least once a week in rain , hail or shine ! The metal and physical health benefits have really changed my life …it’s an amazing community and I’ve made so many friends, I really wanted to show the joy of sea swimming for one of my uni projects in this image.

Really pleased the Goosander have returned to my local lake Newton st Loe just 4 at moment

The third in the Loe Bar series. A dramatic heavy cloud and almost purely golden light made for tough but hugely enjoyable shooting conditions. I have worked on this image a bit, as I didn't like a previous RAW conversion I made which actually seemed to get worse! Not an ideal into the light type shot here but still happy enough. Thanks for your kind support, criticism is very welcome :)

I love my little box camera, only problem is with only 12 shot per film, statistics state that you only get 3 good shots per film!

I am actually more of a dof man. My cat knows, so she tries to bully me by being in my presence as much as possible.

What a place! It's stunning! Could have spent many more hours here on my hands and knees as so many bugs and other insects present! Definitely one to return to! :-)

Cornwall

I completely missed this pic making it's appearance on Flickrzen...

It was actually taken in October, not March. It was near sunset and yes, there was a polarizing filter on. Oh, and I have to admit, did tweak the levels in photoshop after ... but it was pretty much as snapped.

My only problem with is the little lump of shadow about half way up on the right...which must be a bird...

Taken on New Year's Eve - So a good opportunity to wish you all a very happy new year!!!

Despite the forecast of another pretty grey morning, I decided to get up early and head out with the camera anyway.

Knowing that the tide was low, I first headed to Kennack Sands beach - as coastal locations are always my favourite when conditions are right. I should have planned better though... The overcast sky, thick with grey cloud, completely blotted out the rising sun which wasn't able to cast any direct light or warm colour.

I jumped back in the car and scoured Google Maps for nearby woodland locations more suited to the flat light - I headed for Loe Pool.

From the Penrose NT car park, I first wondered the north side of the pool where I noticed a boathouse on the waters edge. With no real composition to be found from this side, I wandered further and snapped a few twisted trees just off the path.

With a shot of the boathouse still on my mind, I walked back and around to the opposing bank to try and shoot it from across the water with my longer lens. In my mind I was thinking that this would be a reccy for an autumnal image next year. As it turned out, even with the deciduous trees free of their leaves, I found it very difficult to find a clear shot without interference from branches and leaves encroaching into the frame (I did have to remove one offender in Photoshop but decided to leave the others in place).

When I returned home, I searched for images of this boathouse to see how other photographers had captured it. I couldn't find a great deal of images, which made me feel slightly happier with my effort - rogue branches and all!

Đừng chùa , mình buồn :(

After the trip to Porthleven on Saturday, I decided to have a look in at Loe Bar on Sunday afternoon. It turned out the waves were still huge but the rain and wind had died away a bit.

Only problem was getting close enough to the shoreline to get some sense of perspective on the waves. They were scarily huge and were crashing into the slate rock face with severe force. I opted for the safer bet on the edge of the cliff and hoped to get some sense of scale. As it turns out these waves look quite small but were easily 3 or 4 times overhead. I tried out the new 17-40 mm lens but actually it wasn't quite the right choice here and I got better shots with the 10-22mm. On a full frame camera I am sure it will come into its own. Thanks for the faves and comments, all are welcome. Have a good one.
