Little jewel of a lake, only 50 acres, at the end of a one mile trail.
Gravelly braided Johnson River and Johnson Glacier just beyond, Alaska Range mountains in the distance.
Another dear friend, Lisa has been a mentor to me in the past, and is now one of my dearest friends. I can't even imagine my life without her in it . . . even if I don't get to see her all that often. I'm not so sure that there is a more validating woman on this planet.
I spotted Lisa leaving the Brick Bank with some paperwork. Hopefully she got a loan to pay for all those Bricklink orders :-)
Working on some images from a shoot I collaborated with Trina on earlier this month. Lisa is a former professional wrestler, who is getting back into the business.
I'm playing around with my new Wacom tablet -- man does it really make delicate retouching work a lot easier. Check out the before image here.
Lisa is unhappy that I didn't get up right away when she meowed for me, so she's munching on a peace lily for attention.

I've recently realised that I've posted very little of my portraiture work. Time to change that. Didn't even have a set. I do now. Will be adding to it over the next while.
Camera: Canon EOS 5D

Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 56 mm
ISO Speed: 1250
Camera: Rolleiflex 3.5B TLR Zenar 75mm f3.5 1954
Film: Ilford SFX 200 Black and White 120

This is the very first photograph I took with my new purchase. It has quite possibly been many years since the camera was used. So I was apprehensive, and of course with film you have no idea until the negative is developed.
The maximum shutter speed of this old Rolleiflex is 1/500 (perfectly fine when film speeds were much slower). But using 120 film at 200 ASA meant I had to be careful not to over expose. I think here I set the aperture to f/16.
I thought I'd start with a celebrity and Lisa Simpson just happened to walk by. Perhaps those bars mean she was arrested after singing this protest song.

This is a portrait of my friend Lisa I took during one of my photography classes. This was actually shot while we were on a boat up on Lake Lanier, and it's one of my favorite "people shots" I've taken, since I think it really captures her personality. Please pardon the dusty negative scan :)
Lisa has just eaten some catnip and feels weird. She likes to roll around on her kitty perch and rub her head on the worn fleece.

Today, I found out I won a Silver Key for my digital portfolio for Scholastics 2009.
The exhibition begins at the Eg2 gallery in Cityplace, West Palm Beach , fl on January 27, 2010
I'm pretty stoked.
Book a shoot with me.
Lisa is perched on a favorite spot in my living room, next to an illuminated globe. She was rescued from the streets of Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, along with her kooky brother Bart. He's nibbling on the hand that's holding the camera!
Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452 in the small village of Anchiano ( near Vinci ). Famous for various reasons such as being a scientist, inventor, sketch artist and a painter of very fine masterpieces. Among his sketching's are that of his inventions and the anatomy of the human body. Famous paintings include St. Jerome, Madonna on the Rocks, Lady with Ermine, the Last Supper and the most famous of all The Mona Lisa.
Hope you do not mind Mr. Leonardo Da Vinci that i have created some newer digital portrayals.
Thank you dear Flickr friends for your visits fav's and most kind comments...have a safe and happy day !
Lisa is on her cat tree, and I'm zooming in from the couch. She likes to climb up there and roll around, in ecstasy. She's between my shins on the couch now, under a blanket.

Lisa is monitoring her brother, Bart, from a favorite spot, atop a large subwoofer. The illuminated globe acts as a nice nightlight for the living room. Lisa and Bart were rescued from the streets of Christiansted, St, Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands) five years ago, via www.realcruzancats.org.
I enjoyed my whistle-stop tour of the Louvre, and obviously I had to visit the world's most famous painting.
I was prepared for the crowds, even though I was there pretty early in the day. Rather than be annoyed that it was impossible to get a quiet moment of contemplation on front of Da Vinci's masterpiece, I decided to make the crowds a virtue of the situation by photographing them.
It seems like the best way of appreciating this iconic artwork is to take crappy cellphone pictures of it!
