"Time is for dragonflies and angels. The former live too little and the latter live too long." - James Thurber

Not my best work today; but it is the first time I've managed to get a dragonfly photo with decent focus and I really liked the way the light caught his wing so I couldn't pass up using this one today. I would have liked to have been able to shoot at a different angle, sadly though, I'm short and this guy seemed to like perching above me so this was the best I could do.
It's sort of a candid dragonfly photo, if you will. Or maybe I'm just justifying posting this instead of one of the better photos I took today. Could be either, really.
Nothing too exciting to report today; work was work. Did the groceries afterward, which wasn't very exciting. I did get some yoga pants in the clothing section of the store, so that's fun. They were on sale and looked awfully comfy. Yay for splurging.
Hope you've all had a good day and maybe found a way to spoil yourself as well.

The highlight for me, watching two Grob 109's strapped up to the nines with LED's and pyros!!

Scottish Airshow 2016
Partially rebuilt my FDNY Ambulance. The cab is completely new designed and got 2017 Ford F-450 front. Also changed some of the LED's of the built in lighting kit. The front lightbar got a red and the rear lightbar two new blue LED's. The white flashers of the front moved to the fenders on the side because don't wanted to drill holes in the Lego's.
The council has changed the streets lights to white LED's, it's made every where look really white in the snow.

I really love this picture

Each day more gifts are tucked beneath our Christmas tree. By the time Santa gets here - there won't be much for him to do. *LOL
This is the largest of the three trees we decorate each year. I love the crazy light patterns the LED lights add to the walls and ceiling - plus the electric meter spins much slower with the LED's.
Only three more days to gift opening, and all of the festivities that go along with this time of year.
Wishing all of my Flickr friends a joyous day with family and friends.
A Met Police Area Car based locally at Charring Cross Police Station seen responding up Whitehall, London.
It's like cyberpunk but with better hair :P
3.7 second to let the visor burn in (it has LED's in the sides). Flash at the end.

One of the Met Police BMW R1200's from the Torch Relay Protection Group seen on a blue light call over Lambeth Bridge.
A video of it coming back round the roundabout a little while later can be seen here www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hsFDJ34SDA&list=UUYSFh7mgCmW...
Seen cutting across Parliament Square, London during a mad few minutes for Met Police's Firearms Teams.
This has a more interesting shape, a pin to mount the VTOL, and LED's at both ends. It was a pain to make!
I think I can tweak the resistor values to brighten the dim end and darken the fireball a little, but I'll wait until it's installed and I can see it all togther.
Installation of my Metal print work. This one is rear lit with LED's, additional prints visible in the hall beyond.

Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology Building - UTS
Sydney, Australia.
Architect: Denton Corker Marshall
Contractor: Lend Lease
Cpmpleted:2014
Project Cost: $240 million
Energy rating:5 Star (GBCD)
The FEIT (Building 11) is part of the new constructions that have revitalised the western gateway to Sydney’s CBD.
It is a massive investment in the future of education & research, with the ability to accommodate up to 5,000 students & staff.
The 12 level, 44,000 sq. metre building is cloaked in a shimmering aluminium veil.
The angled semi-transparent facade that envelops the building is made up of aluminium sheets containing binary code patterns.
At night the facade is lit by a myriad of green LED’s providing an impressive light display.
A crevasse-like horizontal and vertical atrium runs through the entire building, providing natural light and pedestrian access via bridge links.
An Escher-like series of stairways connect the two sides of the building.
Unusually, the building has no formal ceilings and has a raised floor system to contain all the building services, including air conditioning.
This gives the building design an industrial element with exposed concrete.
A tree-lined arcade provides a ‘green’ link between Building 11 & Building 10, and features a cafe.
FEIT is a ‘living lab’ with sensors placed throughout its structure to provide ‘realtime’ data on it’s performance including energy production & consumption, and rainwater collection.
The building features nine classrooms, two large tiered theatres, and a 3D Data Arena.
State of the art labs provide high-tech learning & research facilities in aerodynamics, software development, and dynamics & mechanics.
FEIT features a sustainable design, with roof-mounted wind turbines, and solar panels to generate electricity for heating & cooling.
The facade of the building provides natural lighting that reduces energy costs by up to 15%.
The provision of numerous stairways encourages less usage of lifts.
