Seen responding along Millbank, London.

EXPLORED - 6th SEPTEMBER 2012

This shot was taken very early in the morning before sunrise. There was a bit of fog in the city that morning, and the purple glow on the sides of the image are the LED lights under the bridge lighting up the fog. Several bridges in Dayton have colorful LED's under them. I may, or may not, have been standing in the middle of the road with my camera on the tripod to get this shot..........

Orb: 32 LED's + 2*6 Volt Lead Batteries and a couple of cables i soldered together.

you should definitely check out his photostream!!!

Seen parked up on Bishopsgate, London.

It dropped off a couple of officers with a large bag and then sped back off on blues in the direction it came. The 2 officers were then picked up by a Focus which responded along Bishopsgate, then turned round, sped away on blues, then stopped, turned its blues off and this Kuga appeared on blues again!! Mad few minutes for BTP!!

One of AST's Emergency Ambulances seen responding around Lambeth Roundabout, London on what seemed to be a busy day for AST.

One of 2 Movano's from AST which had the Opel grill instead of the Vauxhall one.

This is an update of my WIP MOC. It is about 2/3 complete at this point. At this point it has aprox 600 LED lights and around 60,000-70,000 peices, and if all goes as planned it will have about 1200-1500 LED's and around 100,000 pieces. Hopefully I will have it completed by Star Wars Weekend @ Legoland.

New style Astra, has covert lights in rear window, front 'fend off' LED's and dash mounted LED's as well

Last 4 Way style traffic signal in Fayetteville, Arkansas near the University of Arkansas campus. Look closely and you can see the lights were converted to LED's a few years ago.

A lovely Mitsubishi Evo 10 from Essex Police's OSG seen pulling onto Waltham Road, Boreham.

I got a really funny look from the driver and was hoping she'd do a U-Turn and stop me but I wasn't that lucky!!

Partially rebuilt my FDNY Ambulance. The cab is completely new designed and got 2017 Ford F-450 front. Also changed some of the LED's of the built in lighting kit. The front lightbar got a red and the rear lightbar two new blue LED's. The white flashers of the front moved to the fenders on the side because don't wanted to drill holes in the Lego's.

Quite impressed with this as it was taken in the dark!!

Apologies for the awful lighting, but I liked the way the blues showed up :)

Something completely new for a change! Hope you all like it :o)

Exploring image editing techniques for creating alternative moods for differing emotional responses to the imagery.

Glass Shadows canvas light painting created using Red, Green, Blue & Yellow LED holiday string lights. Majority background created shining LED's through cast lead crystal napkin holder, TV projection lens. Additional light line uses lead crystal business card holder, TV projection lens, a 60mm solid sphere, then a 4" and 6" water-filled spheres, lastly through an 80mm solids sphere. The camera line is through a100mm solid sphere and the same 80mm sphere used in the light line, lined up to hide the smaller sphere to hide behind the sphere closest to the camera.

The final image is made from seven, 61-image stacks. The stacks are HDR images, -3 EV to +3 EV. Ending with manual final global edits.

Software:

stacking -- Helicon Focus

HDR -- photomatix

Image editor -- GIMP

Glass Shadows images are created shining LED holiday string lights through glass and crystal onto a canvas, then captured using Focus Stacking and HDR, ending with a final manual global editing in a photo editor.

A test film of my Minolta MD lens 1:2.8 f=135mm mounted on a Minolta X-700 body, Lyon, France, March 29, 2023 during a 9-km photowalk from my home to the Saône river banks.

I own this Minolta lens MD 1:2.8 f=135mm since December 2021 (bought in France for 60€) but I never really used it beside initial technical tests when adapted to one of my two Sony A7 bodies and I never did a film with it. The 135 mm focal length (X2.5 related to the normal 50mm) is a small telephoto lens with te advantages to be still light and compact enough to be used easily hand-held and not too difficult to carry in a photo bag. The lens is equipped with a build-in collapsible shade hood plus a Minolta AC 1B (Skylight) 55mm filter that I kept for the photo session for all the views except some with a circular polarizing filter.

For this film, the lens is mounted on one of my two Minolta X-700, the "China" version (assembled in China 1993-1999). The camera was also equipped with its motor drive MD1 and the Minolta multi-function back. The X-700 was loaded with a B&W super-panchromatic Rollei Retro 400S (Agfa Aviphot 400) 36-exposure film.

The Agfa Aviphot film used for aerial photography is specially sensitized in the red, up to 780nm in the near IR instead of the regular 650-680 nm limit of a normal panchromatic film. The film provides usually high-definition and high-contrast negative views. What is more, the Agfa Aviphot is coated on a thin and flat polyester base without any base color increasing the contrast as well. However to prevent the halation possible the Agfa Aviphot is coated on the backside with a black and blue anti-halation pigment to inhibit the light back diffusion (halation). The printing from a data back was tested here to print the date on the two-first frames and the time after the last frame while setting the printing LED's intensity to the medium value available (3 diamonds) on the Minolta multi-function back (there are 6 levels of intensity available).

Exposures were determined using the TTL system of the Minolta X-700 in the manual mode, privileging the shadow areas.

Montée de la Butte, March 29, 2023

69001 Lyon

France

After exposures the film was processed using Adox Adonal (strictly equivalent to Agfa Rodinal) developer at dilution 1+25, 20°C for 10min30. The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Slide Duplicator installed on a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5. The RAW files obtained were then processed in LR and finally edited to the final jpeg pictures.

All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg accompanied by some documentary smartphone Vivio Y76 color pictures.

I just had to upload something new again!

Multiple weeks without a single new picture by me, unbelievable! :D

It even get's weirder when you think of all the cars that have been to my hometown in the past two months:

Lexus LF-A, SLR 722S Roadster, Aventador Roadster (driving together with another Aventador), 2x SL 65 AMG Black, 2x C 63 AMG Black, CLK 63 AMG Black, GT2 RS, Turbo 918, 4x Superleggera, white F12 Berlinetta and so on...

This real BF Performance Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (with LSD-doors xD) was also a highlight and it really looks so sick that I just had to make a special editing for the shot.

The panoramic view and the low saturation may be a matter of taste, but I think it quite fits here.

Tomorrow I will visit Amsterdam for a week, but I'll be back soon... ;)

See ya!

Lambeth Roundabout, London.

Lovely wave from the driver :)

Here this gal is sweeping her pedipalps across the front of her iridescent chelicerae. From a foot in front of her it looked like small brightly colored LED's were blinking off and on.

A lovely Met Police Volvo V70 seen responding around Parliament Square, London.

A gorgeous Mercedes Sprinter Dog Van seen driving around Trafalgar Square, London.

A look at what's going on underneath the truck. The two L-motors are geared 20:12 before the 5:7 differential. This is roughly twice the speed of the normal direct setup, and made possible when using either as PF V2 receiver, or, as here, an SBrick. The steering uses Ackerman geometry and you can spot how the wiring of LED's go to the rear.

Braintree's local 4x4 seen turning onto Coggeshall Road on a blue light call.

I was then stopped by a PCSO who had been asked to speak to me after I 'jumped out' to take a photo, she advised me that I could be prosecuted it the vehicle was involved in an accident as I was distracting the driver by taking a photo.

The last 4 photos were all taken this morning after some overnight snow. Quite dark at 8.30am so not the best of lighting.

This is the end.... of tonights uploading :) More tomorrow :)

Rit Rond de Rivieren 2011

I was one of the photographers of a new charity run, called "Rit Rond de Rivieren", which translates as "Run Around the Rivers" in English.

One of the present cars was this white Nissan GT-R which I shot at Hotel/Restaurant De Wolfsberg in Groesbeek, the Netherlands.

I had to use the LED's on my cellphone to light the car because there was almost no available light on this side of the car.
