This guy really cooperated - kept landing and taking off from the same perch, hitting the water, so was able to set up and get him right when he was coming back to roost!

In the icy polar waters a Kittiwake was about to land after looking for food.

Osprey landing on a very very short runway

A Ring-billed gull flares just before landing on this lone boulder protruding from Lake Michigan.

The gulls often fight each other for this prime real estate, but it looks like this one has it all to itself.

Fast shutter speeds allow us to see the aerobatics that accomplish the miracle of flight, which the birds take as a routine matter of fact :)

After a heavy snow that morning, the path leading toward the Grand Teton NP Mountains had puddles dotted all along way.

Juvenile Peregrine Falcon practicing landing.

This pretty little guy, a Vermilion Flycatcher, is common in in the southwestern US and Mexico but is occasionally found here in Florida. I've had the opportunity to photograph it only once before. This is the bright red male. I managed to catch it as it was landing. (Pyrocephalus rubinus)
