This guy really cooperated - kept landing and taking off from the same perch, hitting the water, so was able to set up and get him right when he was coming back to roost!

A Great Egret approaches a snag for a landing at Little Creve Coeur Marsh in St Louis, Missouri. I really like this version in black and white. Check out those water droplets coming off of both feet as he opens his claws to grab a perch!

This pretty little guy, a Vermilion Flycatcher, is common in in the southwestern US and Mexico but is occasionally found here in Florida. I've had the opportunity to photograph it only once before. This is the bright red male. I managed to catch it as it was landing. (Pyrocephalus rubinus)

I am sorry that I have not been on...our internet has been out this week and it will not get fixed till wed of next week.(ggrrrr..the problem is under ground, uggg) Right now, I am out of town with family that has traveled across the country to see us...whooo hooo...sooo we are out and about having fun.
