HEAD MOLD: 2006 "New Teresa"

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I found this gem in October 2022 at the local flea market. Besides finding Teresa, that Sunday was a bust. She was at a regular seller's booth--the couple we've bought many Monster High dolls from in the past. She must have been a freshly put out dolly, as I didn't recall seeing her in the pile of plastic people previous weekends. This Teresa jumped out at me for two reasons. Firstly, she was clearly from the 2006/2007 era. I don't find dolls from this time all that often. When I was just getting back into collecting in 2011, those dolls were easiest to find secondhand. However, I was much pickier back then, so I passed them up. After that, these ladies faded into obscurity...I hardly see them compared to other generations of dolls (the same can be said of Bratz from this era). The second reason I was intrigued by Teresa was the fact that I specifically recognized her as a Fashion Fever gal. She's featured in one of the doll books I have owned for the longest, "The Barbie Doll Photo Album." I spent hours upon hours flipping through the pages of this massive book, trying to identify dollies or killing time in various hospitals when Dad was sick. Any doll pictured in the pages of this familiar book is automatically iconic to me. I simply couldn't leave her behind, especially given her wonderful condition and $3 price tag. Teresa dolls with this distinctive head mold aren't exactly beauty queens when compared to their predecessors. However, I find that variety is the spice of life. Her quirky features make her unique, especially among the throng of older dolls in my collection!

MISSING ITEMS: Shoes, purse

PERSONAL FUN FACT: Fashion Fever dolls are notorious for their excellent quality clothing and impeccable style. This Teresa was no exception. Her ensemble reminds me of a modern day Grecian princess. Even her hair is fanciful, what with the golden tinsel. I was sure that this was Teresa's correct outfit when I found her at the local flea market in 2022. I could recall seeing her in the pages of "The Barbie Doll Photo Album." Considering that she was fifteen years old when I adopted her, it's impressive that Teresa was still sporting her factory getup. Of course her shoes and purse were long gone...but that's how it typically is when purchasing secondhand dollies. I adore the ultra pale greenish teal color of this dress. It also has real chains on the waist!!! This is a feature that is common on Bratz clothes, but not so much on Barbie fashions. And of course, I'm a sucker for the fabric rose that is also attached to the waist piece. Usually halter tops fall apart since the straps are made from ribbon. Over time, the ribbon will fray. However, Teresa's dress utilizes this thick rope like tie instead. Even though it was tightly knotted, it didn't fall apart at all when I removed it for laundering! The gold jacket is also special--if you look closely you can see that it has a subtle pattern. It reminds me fondly of my O.M.G. doll, Jukebox B.B.'s, ensemble.
