I'd hoped to capture an airliner flyby (or two) as the moon rose; I had just 3 nights that airliners approaching LAX might cross the moon, from my view. Prior nights were hit-and-miss with moving clouds covering my lunar subject. Tonight was a very clear evening, but a 'fly-by' opportunity didn't materialize. Airliners and private jets flew tantalizingly close, some crossing over, then under the moon. But timing was not to have them occupy the same small patch of sky... at least from my perspective. It was a beautiful evening, nonetheless.

"You know the moon changes its distance from Earth continually. It must, since the orbit of the moon is not a perfect circle; instead, it’s an ellipse, like a circle someone sat down on. The moon was last at perigee – its closest point to Earth for this month – on April 20. So on the date of the article you’re reading now – April 25, 2018 – and into early May, the moon’s distance from Earth is steadily increasing. It’ll continue increasing until our companion world reaches apogee – its farthest point for the month – on May 6." - EarthSky

an 1890’s residence, was built for a merchant of aromatic kitra (grapefruit-sized lemons) which were exported along with carobs and olive oil from its sheltered port.
It was restored to its original style and structure with great care in accordance with Cretan traditional architectural standards.
Panormo, a small traditional village with a rich history, has remained delightfully laid – back and unspoiled. It lies on the central north coast of Crete that allows its visitors to explore many parts and sights of the island.
At the close of the last century, Panormo’s harbor was well known as it served as a port of export towards western Europe for local agricultural produce. Today, this lively but not totally untouched by tourism village, hasn’t lost its character nor its quiet.
Panormo, centrally located on the north coast of Crete, is 25 km from the Venetian town of Rethymno and 55 km from Heraklio and the Minoan palace of Knossos.
Villa Kynthia retains its grand charm as it has been lovingly restored with its wood-paneled ceilings, beamed eves, parquet floors and time period furnishings to complete this intimate five-room guest house.
Step through the ornate gateway and you find yourself in the enclosed pool courtyard, shaded by a venerable pine tree and flanked by a raised pool. This is the perfect spot to relax and have your breakfast surrounded by colourful and aromatic flowers.
[17:51] ßαηαکɧεε (nathyn.soothsayer) was flustered enough by falling into Kynthia. The reminder of hte kiss only made it a little worse. He hurriedly righted himself stepping on better wood as he cleared his throat, " Y-y-yes, I did." He said curtly as he continued on. He wanted to see where the tower lead to. He could feel it. The place was natural and it... hummed. It reminded him of the forests by his Uncles. He was something that... made him smile. Perhaps it was a clue that at some point something of magical origins was here... or even something supernatural. Maybe a old species of them! the more he thought, he more excited he grew. He stepped carefully and paused at the darkened entrance to the tower. the fungi within gave off a faint glow to light the area. "... this is incredibly breathtaking..." he whispered aloud. Though considering he lost his breath watching. it was hard to say it all.
[17:48] Labelle was starting to get uneasy, glancing down towards the west again, her nostrils flaring. Slowly the woman walked to the middle of the street and stared down in that direction, straining her senses. No need to alarm anyone yet.. that could well be the sound of the ferms and brush rustling in the wind. She glanced up at Leo, taking stock of where they both were in relation to her. Higher up was better for now.. she returned her gaze to the streets, completely still and quiet.
[18:00] Kynthia Falk no way in hell she was letting him too far out of arms reach, better yet she wasn't letting him out of arm's reach at all! Grip tightens, refusing to let him fully tug away but he could put space between their bodies and move off, she'd step carefully, cautiously testing the wood if it felt as if it'd give way she'd either take a bigger step or shift to one side or the other. The walkway wasn't really wide enough for them to walk side byside so she'd be behind him if nothing else, free hand stretched out, tips of her fingers brushing along the outside wall, attention turned towards the inside of the space, frowning slightly. She could see there was a sort of glow but fully appreciating it.. she'd have Leo explain it in more detail later. "You think there's something of import in there?" She couldn't tell, hell she didn't even know yet that he was a mage so of course she wouldn't know that their skill set was different.
[18:01] Old Garou: The stiffness was beginning to ease from his joints, pace picking up now.. He could see a figure ahead, standing in the street. The shaggy wolf eased out into the street, long nails clicking almost inaudibly against cobble. His eyes narrowed.. was that a person? His vision was failing him. The wolf cursed his age as she advanced, feeling no reason to fear as a noble death was better than being slaughtered by a bloodsucker if they found him. (40m away)
[18:10] ßαηαکɧεε (nathyn.soothsayer) sighed as he had a kynthia growth on his arm. He'd deal with it for the most part as he moved towards this entrance way. "...Yes. there is something there." He was going on familiarity. This place seemed like one his uncle would choose or someone of his chantry. That had to mean something, right? The energy of the place sang. he could probably sit on the planks and call forth the spirits to commune with them all and learn such secrets as he would have never dreamed possible and then had been dreaming all along. That sent a rush through him that moved him forward, Kynthia in tow. "You've never.... just... knew there was something special about a place?" He asked her softly. "Like there was something... here and not here about it and if you... just reached out... if you could just touch what you thought you saw, then the whole world would take on a new level of... of fascination?"
More Carter Bday fun...there's Kynthia the Astrologist...err...astronomer. Thanks to Apurva for taking the photo.
One of my favorite pics...how about you? Tif freaks as Kynthia receives a bounce pass in the ball pit.
