this is my contribution for Max Kuiper's latest publication, Nuit & Noirs 3, Sacred Language.
For this issue, the contributors were asked to respond on this quote of Antonin Artaud:
“I am adding another language to the spoken language,
and I am trying to restore to the language of speech its old magic,
its essential spellbinding power,
for its mysterious possibilities have been forgotten.”
Finally, almost two weeks later than normal, we found some early blooming wildflowers in the woods yesterday including Spring Beauty.
HEERENVEEN – the stately building (1819) that is mirrored in the water, was in former years ever the owner of Kuipers Flour Trade (Heerenwal 4) and the society Eensgezindheid. Now still with original front door and undamaged façade.
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES
ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

Not a lot of leaf color this weekend, but this spot on the Stu Kuiper Trail around Lake Red Rock was a pleasant surprise.
We saw all the follies on a 7,5 km walk, some I really liked others not so much.

On a perfect fall afternoon, we went for a walk on the Stu Kuiper trail in a wooded area on the shore of Red Rock Lake, Iowa's largest lake. This bench is a welcome spot to rest when you take one of the side trails to a high spot overlooking the lake. HBM
This week's assignment for Macro Mondays is "technology". Just last night we have met André Kuipers (our fellow-villager), an astronaut who was in space twice (in 2004 and 2012 in ISS (International Space Station) and who told us so much about space technology. The technical possibilities in our time go beyond our imagination. And as much I would have liked to take pictures of space technology, this is of course not possible. However, what you see in the picture is a remote control with lots of buttons I still do not know the purpose of (for instance "Pure A"). To much technology for me.... HMM!
'United Europe'
In 1894 in the Roemer Visscherstraat in Amsterdam near the Vondelpark architect Tjeerd Kuipers built 7 houses next to each other in the styles of 7 European countries: England, The Netherlands, Russia, Italy, Spain, France and Germany.

Zevenlandenhuizen is a row of houses on Roemer Visscherstraat in Amsterdam's Vondelpark neighborhood.
It is one of the most famous works by Dutch architect Tjeerd Kuipers, dating from 1894. It consists of seven houses, each representing an architectural style from a different European country. Nineteenth-century architecture was characterized by a romantic longing for the distant, a so-called exoticism.
The seven houses successively demonstrate the contributions of seven countries to the history of architecture:
No. 28 Russia: a cathedral with an onion-shaped dome
No. 24 Spain: a villa inspired by the architectural style of Granada with Moorish influences
No. 22 France: a building influenced by the style of a Loire Valley castle
No. 20 Germany: the romantic architectural style with pointed arch windows
No. 24 Spain: a villa inspired by the architectural style of Granada with Moorish influences
No.
Not shown: No. 26 Italy, No. 30 Netherlands, and No. 30A England.

Image of the Kuiper Brandarisrace 2015, a race of traditional sailing vessels from the port of Harlingen to the West-Frisian island Terschelling.
The fleet of a total of 80 traditional sailing ships of different types, like clippers and sailing barges, have to pass the narrow and shallow Schuitengat which is caught in this photo.
The common seals on the sandbank don't seem to mind it.

Historie Kuiper Brandarisrace

Originally the "Ultima Thule Mining Drone", this machine aided in construction of mining facilities near the outer reaches of the solar system in the 23rd century. When mutiny and civil war broke out across the Kuiper belt region, the drone was used in combat against the allied authorities from Earth.
The Brawler was powered by a fusion core made to support heavy loads in construction. The fusion core allowed for constant, high-intensity energy output that gave the Brawler unmatched speed and strength in battle. This, combined with a plating made of a ductile alloy which was unphased by ally weaponry, made the Brawler virtually indestructible in combat.
First big mech in like... 5 years! I've always been inspired by Ryuhei Kawai and his iconic DeRosa mech and wanted to build something similar in my own style. Hope you enjoy!
Over a year ago, the New Horizons spacecraft flew by a strange object at the edge of our solar system. Just a hazy form resembling a snowman on the day of the spacecraft’s closest approach, Arrokoth is now taking shape to be a fascinating and revelatory member of the region of the solar system beyond Neptune's orbit known as the Kuiper Belt. Untouched by the usual turmoil and impacts of most small objects, this pristinely preserved world could tell us about the earliest years of our solar system's formation.
New research published in a series of papers in Science begins to reveal Arrokoth's mysteries, including its formation, geography, composition, various basic properties and more. Scientists from NASA's Ames Research Center in California's Silicon Valley worked alongside researchers from across the world to provide a comprehensive first look at this object.
Also known as MU69, the object consists of two lobes connected by a thin "neck" and has days that run almost 16 hours, while a full orbit around the solar system takes 298 years. Its orbit lies 44 times further away from the Sun than our own Earth, and based on the craters we see across its surface, Arrokoth is estimated to be about 4 billion years old.
