The Villa dei Mulini is located between the Stella and the Falcones fortress and was named after the former presence of windmills. It became the National Museum after it was one of Napoleon's two residences on the island. The emperor arrived on Elba in May 1814, accompanied by his mother, his sister Paolina and a small court. Inside the villa you will find numerous objects from this period, and outside an inviting garden with a beautiful view of the coast.
Die Villa dei Mulini liegt zwischen der Stella und der Falconefestung und erhielt den Namen durch die fruehere Praesenz von Windmuehlen. Sie wurde zum Nationalmuseum, nachdem sie eine der beiden Residencen Napoleons auf der Insel darstellte. Der Kaiser kam auf Elba im Mai 1814, begleitet von seiner Mutter, seiner Schwester Paolina und einem kleinen Hofstaat an. Im Inneren der Villa findet man zahlreiche Objekte aus dieser Zeit, im Freien einen einladenden Garten mit schoenem Blick auf die Kueste.

Built in 1912, the Sheringham Point Lighthouse is a historic landmark. It features a distinctive red lantern room atop a white concrete tower and stands 20 meters tall.
Built on the southwest coast of Vancouver Island, the lighthouse was erected in response to the tragic shipwreck of the SS Valencia.
In 1906, the steamship set sail from San Francisco bound for Seattle and Victoria. There were 173 passengers and crew members on board. Late on the night of January 22, amid bad weather and limited visibility, the Valencia missed the entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca and ran aground on the rocks. 137 men, women, and children lost their lives. This tragedy led to the construction of twelve additional lighthouses in the region, including a new lighthouse at Sheringham Point.
The lighthouse guides ships as they enter the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which provides access from the Pacific Ocean to major ports such as Vancouver and Victoria.
Due to its maritime significance, the lighthouse was officially designated a federal historic site.
