Brahms Kontor heißt seit 2005 ein Kontorhaus am Johannes-Brahms-Platz in der Hamburger Neustadt, das von 1903 bis 1931 in mehreren Bauabschnitten vom Deutschnationalen Handlungsgehilfen-Verband errichtet worden war. Das Hochhaus mit seinen 15 Geschossen war seinerzeit der höchste Profanbau Hamburgs. Von etwa 1965 bis 2005 hieß es DAG-Haus. Seit 2003 steht der Komplex unter Denkmalschutz.
Brahms Kontor has been the name of an office building on Johannes-Brahms-Platz in Hamburg's Neustadt since 2005, which was built in several phases from 1903 to 1931 by the German National Association of Clerks. The skyscraper with its 15 floors was the tallest secular building in Hamburg at the time. From around 1965 to 2005 it was called the DAG house. The complex has been a listed building since 2003.

Bryggen is a serie of wooden warehouses and Hanseatic commercial buildings. It has since 1979 been on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites.
The city of Bergen was founded around 1070 in the original limits Tyskebryggen. Around 1360 a Kontor of the Hanseatic League was established there, and Tyskebryggen became the centre of the Hanseatic commercial activities in Norway. Today, Bryggen houses museums, shops, restaurants and pubs.

Howerver I wanted the photo and tried to use a different perspective concentrating on the beutiful architecture and the reflections and leaving out the bridges that surround the building as seen in most other takes (and I did a few of these too).
Noticeable that - though the name suggest otherwise - this was never a castle but rather just one of the kontors used for trading by the rich trademen who geenrated the original wealth of the city.

Bryggen (Norwegian, "The Wharf" ), also known as Tyskebryggen ; ("the German Wharf") is a series of Hanseatic commercial buildings lining the eastern side of the fjord coming into Bergen, Norway.
Bryggen was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1979.
The city of Bergen was founded in 1070. In 1360 a Kontor of the Hanseatic League was established there, and as the town developed into an important trading centre, the wharfs were improved. The administrative buildings of Bryggen housed clerks from many areas, especially Germany. The main trade was dried cod from Northern Norway in return for cereals from mainland Europe.

Das sanierte Brahms-Kontorhaus empfängt den Besucher in schillerndem Art Déco mit leuchtenden Wandfliesen, edlem Steinzeug und stilechtem Buntglas. Detailgetreu wurde der ursprüngliche Zustand aus den 1920er-Jahren durch die Architekten KPW Kleffel Papay Warncke wiederhergestellt.
The renovated Brahms-Kontorhaus welcomes visitors in dazzling Art Deco with bright wall tiles, noble stoneware and stylish stained glass. The original condition of the 1920s was restored to detail by the architects KPW Kleffel Papay Warncke.

The Hanseatic League was a medieval trading alliance, primarily of Baltic cities including Lübeck, Bremen and Hamburg. King’s Lynn and London were significant Hanseatic trading posts or ‘kontors’. The Lynn kontor was run by Danzig (now Poland's Gdansk) merchants importing wax and pepper.
This building, the local Hansa headquarters and warehouse, is the last surviving in England and dates from 1475.
