Though I play at the edges of knowing,

truly I know

our part is not knowing,

but looking, and touching, and loving.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Knowing that Columbine flowers are also called Granny's Bonnets makes me smile. Suddenly I am transported to the garden in Alice in Wonderland and singing blossoms.

Lazy Days

Knowing we are not meant to dwell in the barren cold of winter, Spring calls to us on a tempting warm breeze, “Cast off your dark days and smile, for just as I awaken the insects and creatures, so I bring you renewed life. Look to the lighter, longer days and inhale hope, breathing out joy as you feel yourself lifted.”

Knowing that it is Easter week-end I pulled this one out of my hat (archive). The Eastern Cottontail was running towards my direction until it noticed my presence, veered left and disappeared in the cattails. Happy Easter. Rouge Beach Park, Toronto.

By now you all know how important children and their welfare are to me. It may only be a small way, but I feel if I do these works and share other's knowledge and feelings maybe in a small way I can make a difference for the better.

as silent knowing it is completely detached from the thinking mind, the perceiving senses, the doing body, the happy or unhappy person. Whatever you perceive is there in the field of knowing but it is not you. ....

The phrase "knowing where your bread is buttered" (or "knowing which side your bread is buttered on") means understanding what actions, behaviors, or allegiances bring you the most advantages, income, or support. It describes being pragmatic about protecting your livelihood and interests

I went to a forest called "Rude Skov" - yes, the name is weird in English but I assure you that it is not rude ;)

I had all my gear with me but decided only to shoot handheld and to do so in manual mode, so no help from anything but the meter inside the view finder; it was so much fun and actually not that hard. Going manual gave me a sort of peace of mind, knowing how the camera was set and that the shutterspeed or aperture wouldn't change unless I wanted them to. I really encourage you to try manual mode for landscape if you haven't already.

The shots are basically of the same subject around a small lake in the forest but with variations in perspective and composition. Hopefully it's not too boring to look at.

Here's to experimentation! I plan to do a lot more of that in the near future.

Thanks again to Adam and his Landscape Masterclass at First Man Photography - without that I really wouldn't have considered going manual and not even gotten the shot because going through that masterclass has made me rethink how I shoot landscapes. I am still learning; I still struggle when looking for interesting subjects and also the composition. Also, ISO, aperture and shutterspeed is something I still need to incorporate into my workflow for each shot because I tend to forget checking and setting them. Heh.

Knowing that my perennial flowers are popping up through the soil, it's only a matter of time before the trees in our neighborhood start erupting in flowers. Oh, wonderful Spring! How I have missed you!

Vanier Park, Vancouver BC.

Knowing there should be nice views of the city skyline and was thinking about taking some night photos, I took my tripod and Nikon to Vanier Park one late evening. Just after I finished shooting and was ready to leave, I heard some barkings from far to near, sure enough there were two big dogs rushing towards my direction, unleashed! It just so happened someone preferred to walk their dogs in late evening, and thinking there would be very few people at the park during those hours, the proud owners decided to have the dogs roamed around freely, which I understood. Despite the owner yelled tyowards my direction saying the dogs were (supposed to be) friendly, it was still a bit nerve wrecking to have 2 large dogs barking fiercely at you in close encounter, finally I requested the owner to come get her dogs, which she did, and then I backed away with my equipment and rushed back to my car.

On our way home from the recent trip, we were looking for a spot to stop and have a picnic lunch. I've been to Randsburg previously, so when we came to the turnoff leading a short distance to the town, I took it knowing there would be a place to lunch. The town is called a ghost town, but it has 69 residents according to the census. On this day you would swear that it was truly a ghost town. No tourists, and not a soul to be seen. Pretty eerie.

At times we may not see it but we know it.

Special moments. Treasured times.

Knowing that dishwashing soap is a grand plaything, I decided to create a concentrated solution when mixed with water. Dipping a cake cooling rack into the liquid, I then placed the rack in the kitchen window. It was a messy project, but the results were astounding. Knowing that today was supposed to be sunny I decided to bring my camera to work. Thanks to a heads up from Jimmy G, I was able to change my route home to meet up with L307 at Paris West.

Before knowing the weather condition of the Himalayan region we should understand its geography. The Himalayan region covers an area of 2,250 km with an average width of 200 km.

The forest belt of the Himalayan region consists of Oak, Rhododendron, Birch, Pine, Deodar, and Fir. And the monsoon season in this region lasts for mid June till the end of September. The Himalayas influences the meteorological conditions in the Indian subcontinent to the south and in the Central Asian highlands to the north to a great extent. It acts a climatic divider circulating the air and water system to a great extent. Because of its altitude and location it blocks the passage of the cold winds coming from the north to the Indian sub continent thereby making India's climate much more moderate. It also influences the rainfall pattern in India. The combined effect of rainfall, latitude and altitude largely influences the forests belts in the Himalayan region. The rainfall is mostly recorded during the monsoon time of June to September but it decreases as you travel from east to west. The snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas stretch 2, 250 km from the Namcha Barwa to Nanga Parbat on the Indus. The range extends from east to west up to central-Nepal and then takes a southeast to northwest direction.

Knowing that below freezing temperatures are heading our way, I was pleased that my flower garden was still covered with a thick layer of last Autumn's leaves. Of course there are those plants that are determined to break through the soil. Here's to those hidden treasures that spend time in their gardens.
