1925 Stearns-Knight Model-S
Six-cylinder 4.0L L-head engine with a block cast in pairs and mechanical operated side valves delivering 70 HP. Unlike standard engines of the era, the 1925 Stearns-Knight engine used two concentric, cast-iron sleeves that slid up and down between the piston and the cylinder wall. Manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio by the F.B. Stearns Company (before being absorbed by Willys-Overland later in 1925), the Model 6-S engine was celebrated for its luxury, reliability, and lack of carbon buildup issues common in contemporary poppet-valve engines
there was a little girl very determinedly boxing this knight in the corner with over-sized chess pieces. it was rather cute.
