Held at Doncaster Racecourse on 6 Sept 2014, Knight-Con showcased cosplay, stars and cars and was an awesome day out. I got to meet Virginia Hey, Chase Masterson, Femi Taylor, Pam Rose, Kenny Baker, David Prowse, Ken Coombs and Sarah Douglas and catch up with good friends and make new ones as well.

Ryan started out in BMX racing. His racing days are long gone... but he couldn't help but go to his old race track to snap off a few photos. We both really dug this one, and it went into Focalpoint #17 for Ryan's interview.

Before settling in Suffolk the Chevalliers were residents of Jersey, having moved, as Huguenots, from France to flee Catholic persecution. At some point the Chevalliers were involved in the Crusades and as associates of the Knights Templar they earned the family name as knights on horseback - "chevalliers". The scimitar reflects their involvement in the campaigns of the "Holy Land" against the Saracens. Having moved to Jersey c 1400, the family consolidated itself as part of the establishment and at some point in the subsequent 300 years a memorial was erected to one of the family - of which the knight was a part.
It was JB Chevallier who first used the knight in the 1920's as the company logo.
I don't know if the person who owns the liquor store is a flickerer...but the store that sold alcohol using pictures of children have switched to the knights of the round table. Good for them.

Leeds Knights vs Tyneside Jesters, 5th July 2014 at Bradford Ice Arena.
Leeds won the charity game 4-2 while raising money for Leeds Children's Hospital.
