First Impressions
Most people make an initial opinion of a stranger within the first five minutes of meeting them. According to research candidiates' impressions are made up of the following:

As soon as you enter the building you need to be polite to everyone you meet. You need to remain calm and confident, give a firm handshake, and remember to make eye contact. The interview is not only a chance for the interviewer to assess if you are the right person for the job, but it is also an opportunity for you to see if the forces are suitable for you.
During the interview you need to look for opportunities to be proactive and ask your own questions or try to lead the discussion where appropriate. Questions should reflect your keenness to work for the Forces...
Keep your concentration levels up during the interview and make sure you listen to the responses the interviewer gives you. The worst mistakes happen when people end up asking questions about topics that have already been covered, or don't hear or understand what the interviewer has said.

Make sure you give the interviewer your full attention
Wait for them to finish speaking, before you answer the question
Make sure you ask open questions, to ensure you get full answers
Check you understand everything that has been said
What are your biggest accomplishments? This should be job related, and is a chance to show your competency
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Points you need to remember:
Smiling is a good positive signal, as it reaffirms your good nature
Maintain eye contact
Relax do not rush or fidget
Mirror the interviewers techniques, if they laugh, laugh with them
Maintain an alert position, sit up straight, don't slump, but be comfortable

Wedding of Wally Tyler & Ellen Swan 1919, the hall behind the Three Sisters public house, close to their home Caroline Place. The lady to right of the bride was Mrs Ellen Swan ( brides mother ) who ran a small shop from Number 1 Caroline Place, selling tobacco. She then moved to Number 2 giving up the shop, later moving to No14. The pair behind the bride & groom were Alfred and Sarah Swan of Kent Terrace. Sarah was a " baby helper" for the community. Four adult bridesmaids named as Rose Bing, Laura Kitney (Swan), Kate Walker and Olive Whitton (Lockyer).

Not recorded against any of the planes lost in 1943 on the Lost Bombers site. The RAF\USAAF records don’t have him down as a fighter casualty. Although may not relate, the RAF bases at Ludham, Horsey and Marham were attacked late on the 6th July, and there were a number of casualties.

This building is named "Penmorfa" and was constucted in 1862 by father of Alice ( Alice in Wonerland fame), later converted to Hotel. It is now being demolished by the council inspite of pleas from the residents.
following paragraph is from a website which was set up to appeal against the demolition.
"Penmorfa was completed in 1862 and it is well documented that many famous people visited Dean Liddell there. They included the Prime Minister-William Gladstone, Matthew Arnold, Sir Henry Acland , Samuel Wilberforce (Bishop of Oxford), and Sir Charles Newton with his artist wife Mary."

Soldiers from the Leicestershire Regiment carrying out an identity check on the corner of the High St and Railway Street Chatham 23rd May 1944. The following Information came from Maureen Tierney in July 2010. “The lady holding the pram was my mum. Her name was Ellen May Kitney, though everyone knew her as Ethel. The two boys in the pram are my brothers, Reg who has now died, and Jackie, now 67, who lives at Borstal. The lady beside her in the glasses is my auntie Daisy Carey. I was born four years later. My mum was just 24 when that picture was taken. She was lovely and had long dark hair. My dad bought her the little suit she is wearing.
They lived in Skinner Street, Chatham, at the time. My dad, Jack Kitney, was her second husband. He worked at Ambrose’s, the greengrocers off The Delce in Rochester for 36 years, and was three months off his 92nd birthday when he died.
My mum had lots of jobs, mainly cleaning and fruit picking.”"
