I saw this battered sticker/decal on a car window about a year ago. I thought then it was a sign of and for our times. It seems even more suitable now. Kindness always matters. Yet our desire - and perhaps our ability - to show it, do it, be it, seems very diminished these days.
It is a truly magnificent thing, a testament to the generosity and kindness that exists within us all. When we give to others, we are not only helping them, but we are also helping ourselves. There is a certain sense of satisfaction that comes with knowing that you have made a positive impact on someone else's life.
Supporting each other is equally beautiful. When we offer our support to others, we are letting them know that they are not alone. We are telling them that we are here for them, no matter what. This can be an incredibly powerful message, especially during times of difficulty and struggle.
To all of those who practice giving and supporting each other in their everyday lives, I extend my heartfelt thanks. Your kindness and compassion are truly inspiring. Your actions remind us all of the goodness that exists in the world, and they serve as a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together.
So here's to all of the givers and supporters out there. You are making the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time. Thank you for all that you do!

So true. At work today I got a phone call from a client that wanted to pay his bill and book some shooting instructions, and before hanging up, he asked how my running was going because he was in on the conversation when I first started running about 2 months ago. So, I told him how I had hit my goal yesterday and he responded enthusiastically, and congratulated me and asked when my 5K was, and gave me the kindest words of encouragement. This from a busy, high powered executive millionaire, under 40 years old, who took the time to take an interest and make me feel like the nonsense in my life actually mattered. It made my day and it's not difficult to see how someone that young could be that successful with an amazing attitude like that. (Previously he also promised me.... yes, he promised!!!! ... that I will be able to run a half marathon, and that we'll pick one out and run it together. If I ever DO run a half marathon... I'm pretty sure I will dedicate it to him!)
Try a little kindness.... you don't have to be a millionaire to make someone else feel like one.

Because sometimes when you are holding a pallet and a milk can steady while your friend is standing on it trying to pry an old metal sign off of the front of an old out building on an abandoned farm, with a pocket knife, that is the classic accident waiting to happen.... a man, watching from across the street, instead of calling the police, comes over with a ladder and tools... and offers a helping hand. How cool is that?
It's OK because the farm was owned by my friend's friend... and she was taking the sign off to have it restored as a surprise gift for him... and the building is going to be torn down anyway .... but as is the way in some places, surprises don't always pan out... and when he got home that night, the first thing he asked was..."What were you two trying to steal off the front of my barn?" Really?!!
We were also told.... don't go in the barn, there's nothing in there but pigeon crap. Well...partially true... but there was also beautiful lighting.... and one lone pigeon.

one look and a quick walk outside with her..I knew I would bring this girl home.
What we didn't know was the extent of her "she doesn't like to be left alone" as we were told. Seeing the chewed board in her kennel is an example of what she does to escape .. it was challenging for me at the beginning to understand her mindset..so I went to my vet for help..I was told "she shouldn't of been put up for adoption with her issues .. You should bring her back to the SPCA or put her down"
A year later ..
We have happily adjusted our lives to make indi feel comfortable and safe .. she has brought us great joy and companionship. We really rescued each other.
So far behind on my homework for 2B...thought I would try to catch up while my days are my own for a short time...
It is much easier to do when the sun is shinning and a gentle, warm breeze is floating in my door...the reward for my early morning work...going to the beach in the afternoon...and tonight, at dusk, in the street of Grand Case, Ribs and Chicken on the grill that fall off the bone, a glass of wine and locals selling their wonderful crafts, all this for less than I paid for my bowl.
It's going to be a good, good day.
