Stay strong Adelaide - the current quick harsh 6 day lockdown may do what it is designed and squash the Coronavirus outbreak I don't want to see your lovely city and people repeat what happened in Melbourne.

It just shows how quickly and how underground the infection can go before one is aware. There are continuing questions regarding Medi-Hotels ( another new 'word' for this year) but at least the quick, strong lockdown may be just what is needed to stop transmission.

A little waterfall on Kia Ora Creek in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park.
There is another waterfall well below this one that shares its name with the creek but this little fall is right beside the Overland Track and handy to the nicest hut a walker could wish for.
What makes this little scene for me is the large, dolerite, glacial erratic boulder sitting on the top step that the retreating ice left behind somewhere in the order of 20,000 years ago.

Non voglio dilungarmi troppo sull’idea che io ho di Internet. Per me è una realtà come un’altra. Se non si è troppo deboli per diventarne schiavi, può essere occasione di confronto e opportunità di conoscenza di nuove persone e realtà. Io oggi conosco Kia perché è su Flickr.
Kia è una persona stupenda.
Una di quelle persone che quasi si scusa perché piove nella sua adottiva Firenze. Una che ti tira per la manica della giacca perché due volte a voce a me non bastano mai per capire che cammino troppo veloce, no. Una che prepara i cornetti caldi con la nutella, che ti porta nella trattoria più bella del mondo, che ti fa vedere Paz, che accende i termosifoni quando hai freddo, che in casa non ti fa muovere un dito perché sei ospite, che esplode in gioiose risate, che non si stufa quando sei un’ora a scattare la stessa foto, molto probabilmente lei finirà dopo di te…
…insomma una di quelle ragazze che stringono la vita nel pugno della mano destra e vanno avanti sempre e comunque, ha le palle ma con femminilità, una di quelle persone che non cedono al fascino del decadente, del negativo, della fine. Spudorata lei! Con quale naturalezza afferma che è l’ottimismo l’asso nella manica, che le piacciono le persone buone, che i famosi stronzi belli e maledetti potrebbero anche andarsene a fare in culo, insomma. Kia è Kia.
Per fortuna c’è Internet che me l’ha fatta conoscere.

I've not seen one of these for ages. This one looks very tidy and cared for. A 1999 car with 45,000 miles at the last MOT.
Literally located at a road junction in the central belt of northern Qatar we came across this mosque. The light was too good to not stop and photograph the mosque and our hire car.
Happy New Year & Happy Window Wednesday! Always excellent customer service at the Kia garage in Wexford. I traded in my Sportage earlier this year & bought a Niro hybrid. Very pleased with it.
