The most significant geologic feature of Red Rock Canyon is the Keystone Thrust Fault. .... A thrust fault is a fracture in the earth's crust that is the result of compressional forces that drive one crustal plate over the top of another. This results in the oldest rocks on the bottom of the upper plate resting directly above the youngest rocks of the lower plate. At Red Rock Canyon, the gray carbonate rocks of the ancient ocean have been thrust over the tan and red sandstone in one of the most dramatic and easily identified thrust faults to be found. Bergstrasse Cemetery, "The Church on the Hill". Founded in 1752. Ephrata, Pennsylvania.

This cemetery was one of the prettiest I've been to in the US. Just amazing, beautiful stones, an incredible peaceful lovely place. And a skully!

I had the day off today, thought I'd hit a few cemeteries in Ephrata. Well worth the trip!

Yep, that's pretty old for here in the Midwest, especially with the snow, ice, wind and heat.

I am at the Colorado Software Summit this week. We locked 250 really talented software engineers from all over the world in this building for one week and we swap notes. Over the past 16 years, we have become one big extended family. I have seen companies start here during the conference. I know of at least two weddings that came out of this conference. At least four kids have grown up at this conference. They started out as mascots and some of them grew up to be engineers.
