Red Rock Canyon Natural Conservation Area (BLM) - Keystone Thrust Trail - The Keystone thrust near Las Vegas, Nevada, is a spectacular example of a thrust fault, a reverse fault with shallow dip. The dark-gray Cambrian limestone of the Bonanza King Formation is moved sideways and above the pink Aztec Sandstone, of Jurassic age. The thrust fault was most active about 70 million years ago, during the long Sevier orogeny (mountain-building episode). Compressive forces caused by tectonic plate interactions to the west pushed the upper crust eastward. Movement on this thrust fault, which is part of the extensive Sevier fold-thrust belt, appears to have been nearly 100 kilometers.

I spent the 4-6 of the month with my family and family friend in Dillon, Colorado at Keystone Resort for a short vacation! We skied and hung out in the hot tub in our condo for a couple of days. It was a beautiful, nice break from Kansas.
Here's a little Keystone 1040 Everflash disc camera that I paid .50 cents for, (correction, it was a tag sale, so I got it at half price for .25 cents) just as a curiosity for my collection. I'm fairly certain nobody makes disc film anymore, so I probably won't ever be able to use it as part of my living camera collection. Everybody needs one of these lying around! It has a telephoto button you can slide and choose between close-up shots or regular. The slider switch to wind to the next shot is loose/broken and it doesn't work.
