For the complete backstory, click the picture below - trust me, it'll explain a lot :)
And no, this is probably not for the purists. Move on, nothing to see here...!
This is my take on The Hoonicorn, Ken Block's rather heavily modified 1965 Ford Mustang used in his Gymkhana Seven driving video. Which has 41 million views on YouTube.
If you clicked the top link in this text, you'll see that the car is now painted in different colours than the ones I've chosen to build it in - I chose black because that was the original colour... and because it's much easier to make the LEGO version look right in that colour :)
This is not a perfect copy, I'll be the first to admit - but that's partly because I didn't want it to be. Mainly, the proportions are off - it's slightly too long compared to its width (which is particularly obvious when viewed straight from the side), and too tall compared to a minifigure. But I wanted to make it roughly the same scale as the LEGO Speed Champions sets currently on offer, and it looks quite nice next to those.
Neat details include the rear diffuser, gearshift and upright parking brake lever (I'll reluctantly go with the US terms as this is clearly a very American car) - and, of course, the fact that it seats Minifig Ken, which was important to me.
The stickers are from various sources, like LEGO and eBay, but the most important ones come from the online Hoonigan store - but some I just couldn't get in the right size, so the '43' stickers on both sides of the car are hand-cut from clean white LEGO sticker residue. And because I needed the wheels in this specific colour, I asked Auri of Chrome Block City to make me some. Being the great guy he is, he agreed. The exhaust pipe surrounds, headrests/rollcage, and rear badge are from the same store, in custom metallic silver.

This guy - to the left, not the starstruck wannabe to the right -
is, in case you don't know, Ken Block, one of the co-founders of DC Shoes. After selling his shares of the company, he shifted his attention to car racing, and has since participated in the World Rally Championship - with a very respectable 7th place in Rally Mexico as his best result. Currently, he is competing in the World Rallycross Championship, where he has been on the podium on two occasions, driving a car for his own team - in cooperation with Ford - the Hoonigan Racing Division.
His main claim to fame, though, in our days of social media is - undoubtedly - his YouTube videos. The most popular one is the Gymkhana Five (Ultimate Urban Playground; San Francisco) (please do click the link, especially if you haven't seen this before - it's almost ten minutes of beautifully choreographed automotive driving madness. Honestly) which, at the point when I'm writing this, has - wait for it - 92,081,537 views. That is 92 million views. 92 MILLION!
Now, his rallycross teammate happens to be Norwegian, and is from Bergen, where I live and work as a TV sports reporter. Which led to me saying hi to Mr. Block last summer, when he was in Norway for the week leading up to the Norwegian round of the WRX championship, at Hell (yes, that is the name of the place).
I asked him if he'd bother giving me his autograph. I think he was a bit surprised when I pulled out a white 1x6x5 LEGO panel, but he happily signed it - and the rest will be quite obvious when you see the next pictures in my photostream.

Featuring up & coming UK driver Luke Woodham taking on Monster Energy driver & Formula D veteran Vaughn Gitten Jnr during the Gymkhana Grid European gauntlet finals at Santa Pod Raceway.
Luke Woodham won one of the earlier Gymkhana Grid events at Silverstone during the autmotive show 'Trax'. That win allowed him to take on the other European winners for the title during the final!
He was able to take 2nd place in the RWD class in his fully street legal Nissan 200sx, despite the incredibly tough competition from Team Falken drivers Remmo & Lars as well as other fully sponsored race car drivers. A true credit to his driving ability!
Footage was filmed with the help of a Canon 5dmk2 & GoPro HD Hero 2s.
