« There is a silence surrounding me….Keep talking… » Un hommage à Pink Floyd. (Patrice)

………………….

Keep Talking is a "redux" of an image called "Where is the party?", published in 2011. These empty chairs projected on a menacing sky always fascinated me and I believe that the 2011 version did not communicate all that is felt in front of this scene. This new version was inspired by the music of Pink Floyd and is named as one of their songs in the album The Division Bell (1994). This album deals with the difficulty of communication among people. I hope I managed to illustrate the theme. "There is a silence surrounding me. . . Keep talking . . . ". A tribute to Pink Floyd. (Patrice)

An SSC Special -- Tin Cans 01/02/2025 .

In these crazy technological days , it is time now to concentrate on the old and traditional and in these times a product from " Stannum Inc. " will help things calm down .

Back to basics and we can get rid of fiddly sim cards and no continuing charges . There are no distracting screens to take up your day and this lets you see the countryside around you .

The string attached to each tin can through the hole in the base of the can when held in tension allows full access talking and in the DeLux version shown above there are two strings in the package - one for a local call and the other for more long distance chat !! So dust off your old " Tin Cans " , grab a bit of string and start talking !!

So the watchword(s) are --

Keep Talking !! ---

Written by David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Polly Samson, it was sung by Gilmour and also features samples of Stephen Hawking's electronic voice, taken from a BT television advertisement . This same commercial was sampled again in "Talkin' Hawkin'" from Pink Floyd's next studio album, The Endless River. Gilmour chose to use the speech after crying to the commercial, which he described as "the most powerful piece of television advertising that I’ve ever seen in my life.” The song also makes some use of the talk box guitar effect.

Why won't you talk to me? --------- I feel like I'm drowning.

~Pink Floyd, Keep Talking from The Division Bell

The Division Bell was Pink Floyd's final studio album and was the second album recorded after the band's estrangement from Roger Waters. It was released in 1994. The release was accompanied by a successful tour which and documented in the PULSE album which was released in '95.

The album was named by a close friend of David Gilmour, Douglas Adams (author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). In exchange, Gilmour had to donate $25,000 to the Save The Rhino Foundation!

The 'theme' of the album, as heard through songs like Keep Talking is communication and the dangers of allowing oneself to become too isolated.

On a personal note, I saw Pink Floyd in Vancouver on this tour. Seriously one of the highlights of my life. I still get chills thinking about it!

Black or White? I can't decide...

Why won't you talk to me (I feel like I'm drowning)

You never talk to me (you know I can't breathe now)

What are you thinking (we're going nowhere)

What are you feeling (we're going nowhere)

Why won't you talk to me

You never talk to me

What are you thinking

Where do we go from here

Pink Floyd - Keep Talking

I deal with this stuff everyday at work, so we are gonna disconnect and spend the weekend at a friends lake place.

Hope you all have a good one :-)

Taken on time, posted late...heh.

And in the naked light I saw

Ten thousand people maybe more

People talking without speaking

People hearing without listening

People writing songs that voices never shared

No one dared

Disturb the sound of silence

This was at an art gallery & when I saw it I thought it would be so appropriate for Keep Talking by Pink Floyd HSM

Then I thought of Sounds of Silence so this is going to be a double soundtrack Monday

As I left the Royal Academy to turn onto Piccadily, just to the left outside the Geological Society HQ I found a telephone box. Once a common sight all over Britain, very few remain with a working phone inside like this one, though it's not a standard payphone anymore. This suddenly struck me as being different and it has an intriguing sign on the outside which can be read in different ways.

A new TARDIS perhaps or a way to get out of The Matrix? Who is that inside? Preserved or Reserved? Protected how and who for exactly and how will they use it?

🔥 **REMEMBER THAT — Sinful Karama** 🔥

Funny how the people doing **nothing with their own lives** always have the MOST to say about the people actually out here **doing something with theirs.** 👀💯

Keep talking. Keep judging. Keep watching.

While you’re busy talking crap, I’ll be busy **living, growing, creating, and making moves.** 👑✨

Day 37.

A bit arty-farty, this one.

I had been out to get photos earlier but not really in the right frame of mind. So nothing.

It's been a weird day, full of swings and roundabouts but not from the fair that's in town.

Anyway, this wasn't really meant to be a photo that you read hidden meanings into, merely me messing around with a self portrait and adding Pink Floyd Lyrics because I've been listening to Dark Side of the Moon this afternoon and wallowing a bit. (This isn't from that album though).
