Mylapore can rightfully claim to be the soul of Chennai city here in south India. It pre-dates Chennai's birth and has seen the city grow as it has, its own. Mylapore retains the look and feel of an old neighborhood, the culture and heritage typically south Indian, yet it has not escaped development. This place then is also just the setting for a cultural festival. That is why the Sundaram Finance sponsored Mylapore Festival is organised every year in January, on the eve of the local harvest festival of Pongal.

This wonderful implementation of the Keep Calm and Carry On meme was discovered in a kitsch shop in Toronto. I'm fairly certain the "don't blink" reference pertains to that creepy Weeping Angels episode --- something I can easily check on the Internet. (Update: Yep. "Blink")

Keep Calm and Carry On was a poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of the Second World War, intended to raise the morale of the British public in the event of invasion. Seeing only limited distribution, it was little known. The poster was rediscovered in 2000 and has been re-issued by a number of private sector companies, and used as the decorative theme for a range of other products. There are only two known surviving examples of the poster outside government archives

This poster was created using the Keep Calm and Carry On poster generator. I tidied up the image of the Canadian Flag in Fireworks after downloading the generated poster image from the website.
I made the sign using some pine wood from old shelving. I had originally painted it cream. I changed my mind on what to do and painted it black. Then I decided I wanted the lettering to be white so I painted white over top. I used my Cameo to cut the vinyl and painted orange over everything after the vinyl was attached. I was a bit in a rush when I made this, but I'm happy with how distressed it turned out. I'm sorry the picture doesn't look better.
