KATE WINSLET Few would have attempted anything as daring. Not only did Annie Leibovitz have the wiles to coax Kate Winslet into a water tank—re-envisioning her role as Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic—but the photographer decided to keep the frame wide enough to reveal the brilliant artifice behind it all. What happens when I'm on a roll and actually have time to edit more photos I took on my own time? This happens :)
I started with a lovely color version, and then a softer color version, and then this. I love editing myself into a whole new situation, haha.
One of the only new things I didn't really get to use in this shot is the liquify tool/filter. I f*cking wonder why! :sarcasm:

My grandmother Kate was born 4th December 1900. The studio portrait on the left was taken c1917 when she started work as a nurse at the Netley Hospital looking after soldiers injured in WW1. This was shortly after her brother Charlie was killed in action on HMS Invincible in 1916.
The other studio portrait is of Kate with husband William, my grandfather, on their wedding day in 1923, with Kate's parents James and Emily on the right.
The earliest photographic portrait was around 1839/40... The web has been a popular medium for storing and sharing photos ever since the first photograph was published on the web by Tim Berners-Lee in 1992.

While on a walk today with our black lab Kate, we said hi to a neighbor that was repairing his sprinklers. He asked us if Kate was friendly and we said she was. Then he asked his wife to let their dog out. It turns out hank was also a beautiful black lab. They made friends instantly and played ball together.
