lots of sodium street lighting gives a surreal yellow glow to this shot. there were 4 street lights nearby and Kate is standing on a bench in the middle of them with me shooting up to position her in the middle of the archway behind and using the light falling away through this arch to frame her. I love these shots partly for the colour and for the the fantastically positioned streetlights. A sort of mini studio. Colour correcting these shots reduced their impact.

Author Kate Gallison from Lambertville discussed her books and read a passage from "The Edge of Ruin" (which she wrote under the name Irene Fleming) during the NJ State Library Talking Book & Braillle Center's Book Club meeting. She noted a lot of the inspiration for her books, such as the mystery "Jersey Monkey," came from her various employment situations. As a change of pace, for "The Edge of Ruin," she went back to the movie-period of 100 years ago.
