95% of Thailand is Buddhist but the practice of the religion has a unique Thai feel to it given the assimilation of Chinese, Hindu, Christian & other influences being assimilated into it. This is true of almost anything in Thailand from food to language to dress to fashion. If the Thais love something, they take it on fully & make it their own.
