Flippin' first frame film flare ....
I managed to erase the bulk of it, as far as the bumper, but it got too challenging then for this time of night !
This was a typical coach that I would see at Blackpool in the light season, but always parked in the back row of one of the more challenging coach parks, like Turner's or Yelloway's, so I could never get my camera near it, which made this chance encounter all the more satisfying. Len Hopkins ran this Volvo B58 from new in 1975 until the firm's demise in 1998, so maybe it would have carried on even longer had that not occurred. But the fact that it went to Wacton Trading for scrap, and never got a look in at his operational fleet, suggests that it may have been totally shot !

ARRIVA Kent Thameside 1600 KE53 KBO departs from Cascade Leisure Centre on Riverview Park having just started out on a westbound route 481 to Bluewater. Sunday 8th May 2016.
This is now the final ARRIVA vehicle in Kent & Surrey to retain manual blinds (and quite a tidy set!) as well as the old livery.

Since this picture was taken this vehicle has become the final vehicle in the ARRIVA Kent Thameside fleet (non-TfL) to retain manual roller blinds.

Looking down on Home Gardens from the footpath leading from the town to the railway station in Dartford finds Arriva Kent Thameside 1600 KE53 KBO on the 414. This is the last manual blinded vehicle in the Arriva Southern Counties fleet. Monday 7th November 2016. DSCN39694.

Still retaining manual blinds and the old livery - the only MPD in Kent to do so, ARRIVA Kent Thameside 1600 KE53 KBO is seen on Springhead Parkway in the relatively new development at Springhead Park whilst working route 498. Wednesday 29th July 2015.
From Sunday 9th August route 498 will cease and will be replaced by route 483. This new route will start from Kings Farm and run through Gravesend to Perry Street then via the current route 499 around Painters Ash to Pepper Hill where it picks up the current route 498 via Springhead Park, Ebbsfleet and Swanscome to Bluewater.

A temporary allocation of double-deckers on Stagecoach route 178 has released single-deckers to routes in East London covering for late deliveries of E20Ds (this is expected to be until 1st April). Former West Ham vehicle 17988 LX53 KBO (a short TA) is one of several drafted into Catford for this work and is captured having the road to itself in a very quiet Shooters Hill Road on Tuesday 21st March 2017. Seen in Shooters Hill Road, Stagecoach Selkent 17988 LX53 KBO works the 178 during a period when the route was temporarily double-decked owing the single deckers that worked the route being transferred to East London to cover for late deliveries of E20D's. This example, a short TA, came across from West Ham and was one of several drafted in to cover. Tuesday 21st March 2017. DSCN40517.
As I post this image in mid-November 2019 the route is now permanently 'deckered' and operated by Go-Ahead London Central from their Morden Wharf (MG) base in North Greenwich.
