Lee Majors did pretty well for himself, moving on from the Six Million Dollar Man to The Fall Guy who was the cool stuntman by day, and since his dangerous way of making a living could not make him enough money, he moonlighted as a bounty hunter.
For the movie stunts Colt Seavers relies on his physical prowess, for the bit where he needs to chase the bad guys down and haul them in to get the bond money, it's his GMC trucks that do all the hard work. It leaps, it flies, it jumps and does everything with such incredible finesse, you want that truck now.
While it all looks like one indestructible monolith, in actuality, there were multiple trucks used for the shoot, and a great many of them never made it out of the “stunts”. Of course, all of them were GMCs.

A Chevrolet Pickup as built from 2006 until 2014. This K2500 HD has a 6.6 litre V8 diesel engine with 370 PS.
In the show, the truck would frequently be used to jump over things. In real life, this obviously meant that a fair few of them were written off. The show used one or two pristine-looking cars for driving on regular roads and close-up shots and any number of stunt cars for the jumps. The close-up car was usually an '82 GMC K2500 with a long bed and a dark interior. The stunt cars weren't always the exact same model.

Well since this summer has proven to be way busier than I thought, I would like to apologize for the lack of uploading. But in the mean time, I had an idea after watching a bunch of Youtube videos. I had this idea to find a Chevy K2500 (the 3/4 ton 4x4 truck of the GMT400 range) and fix it up. While doing a quick Autotrader search, I came across a quite tasty yet dilapidated 1989 model with a 4-on-the-floor (a rare option on the early GMT400 trucks). This model was sort of my vision for what I would want the final truck to look like if I ever did this project. I hope you all enjoy!
