Not every school bus is a double decker. Sleafordian dispatched their former Newport single deck Omnicity K12 JPB (YN07 VCO), which I’ve spotted before in Lincoln but nice to see it again. It departs Grantham bus station along Bath Street on 3.6.25
You do get a real mix of operators doing schools work around Grantham, and they all seem to provide interesting stuff (i.e. not coaches). Sharpes, Sleafordian, Marshalls and AC Williams usually appear – sometimes others too – while Stagecoach and Centrebus seem to stick to the public routes and not bother with the school contracts.
For my model bus fleet I’ve got one of these Grantham area school routes, and ironically that’s more boring than the IRL offering because its booked vehicle is a plain white Van Hool coach. However when that’s unavailable the alternative is a Wright Scania Ultralow or an ex-HK tri-axle Olympian so they do make up for it somewhat!

A Kodak VR35 K12, produced between 1986 - 1989. This particular unit was made in Japan. It's chunky, the flash cannot be forced off, it uses a 9V battery, and the motor is kinda loud; however, I'm hoping the lens is decent, being a 35mm f/2.8. I'm crossing my fingers!

Best picture I could get in view of tight parking.
