and hello fiickr friends, I've missed you!
While photographing the moon I guessed the dot was Jupiter,
but I really knew it when I saw Jupiter's moons in the downloads.
It seems my focus slipped a bit from the moon 🙀
oh well...
happy free from focus friday ;-)
Reaprendendo a capturar e a processar registros planetários.
Tiempo y lugar: 2022-10-04 - 01:51 UT - Zona Rural, Concordia, Entre Ríos, Argentina.

Jupiter is the largest of the planets in the Solar System, with about 143,000 km in diameter at its equatorial zone. More than 80% of its composition is hydrogen and about 17% is helium (other compounds to a much lesser extent). The planet is crossed by a turbulent dynamics that allows to distinguish bright zones and dark belts. In this unassuming image, one of its most notable features can be seen: the Great Red Spot, which is more than twice the size of our planet Earth.
I obtained this photograph by stacking of the frames of a video captured using a small Maksutov-Cassegrain Explore Scientific 127, f/15, Barlow Meade 2x and Player One Ceres-C Camera.
Time and place: 2022-10-04 - 01:51 UT - Rural Zone, Concordia, Entre Ríos, Argentina.

An image that I had forgotten about! Widefield image of Jupiter with two satellites Io and Europa (leftmost).
Imaged during the early hours of 17th July in rather better conditions than we have here at the moment!
Captured with a ZWO 462MC OSC camera and a ZWO ADC all attached to a Celestron C11.

This is a third and final image I captured of the gas giant Jupiter during the early hours of the 13th August.
The planet had reached an altitude of 27 degrees. The great Red Spot can be seen in shadow lower right heading over the limb.
The image is the result of 2 RGB runs derotated with Winjupos. I used a Celestron C11 SCT and a ZWO 290MM camera with Baader RGB filters.
As ever many thanks for looking!

This image is a composite of three stacks, using Starry Sky Stacker:
1. A set of ~50 images was stacked in two parts, one for the moons of Jupiter and one for Saturn, because the planets moved with respect to each other during the imaging. ISO 10000, 1/100 sec exposure.
2. A set of ~300 images with slightly lower exposure (ISO 4000, 1/100 sec) was stacked to produce the image of Jupiter.
