This cartoon-like balancing "Sax on legs" is playing 'Trinkle Tinkle' (song by Thelonious Monk) and it is a funny design by Rikki Donachie.
The Sax On Legs is made from 3 parts, the sax itself is folded from half of A4 paper and the arms and legs from a fourth of A4 paper. It's not completely closed.

I don't use this as often as I'd like, but when I do, I really enjoy it.
A relatively recent replacement for a turntable I had since high school. It didn't break the bank but easily could have; little did I know a new turntable can require a second mortgage. And that's just for the turntable! Then there's the cartridge, the preamp, and while you're at it . . .
Musical note: I much prefer Blue Train to Kind of Blue, but the latter made for a better title. Either way, jazz is sexier in vinyl.
Technical note: This was the first time I used live view to manually focus. It's the bomb!
A Love Supreme is a suite in four parts: "Acknowledgement" (which includes the oral chant that gives the album its name), "Resolution", "Pursuance", and "Psalm." Coltrane plays tenor saxophone on all parts.
One critic has written that the album was intended to represent a struggle for purity, an expression of gratitude, and an acknowledgement that the musician's talent comes from a higher power. Coltrane's home in Dix Hills, Long Island, may have inspired the album. Another influence may have been Ahmadiyya Islam. Wikipedia

“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”
I used to visit all the very gay places
Those come-what-may places
Where one relaxes on the axis of the wheel of life
To get the feel of life from jazz and cocktails

J'ai caché
Mieux que partout ailleurs
Au jardin de mon cœur
Une petite fleur
Cette fleur
Plus jolie qu'un bouquet
Elle garde en secret
Tous mes rêves d'enfant
L'amour de mes parents
Et tous ces clairs matins
Faits d'heureux souvenirs lointains
Quand la vie
Par moment me trahit
Tu restes mon bonheur
Petite fleur
Sur mes vingt ans
Je m'arrête un moment
Pour respirer
Ce parfum que j'ai tant aimé
Dans mon cœur
Tu fleuriras toujours
Au grand jardin d'amour
Petite fleur
Prends ce présent
Que j'ai toujours gardé
Même à vingt ans
Je ne l'avais jamais donné
N'aies pas peur
Cueillie au fond d'un cœur
Une petite fleur
Jamais ne meurt

Mr John Coltrane. Possibly the greatest jazz musician of all time.

Stop watch you're doing, click, listen and enjoy: John Coltrane - A Love Supreme [Full Album] (1965)
Featuring pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones.
Fucking amazing quartet.
A specially formed band of local musicians paying tribute to the music of the great John Coltrane who died 40 years ago. Featuring two mates of mine on saxes - Lyndon Owen and Caractacus 'Crac' Downes. They played a series of two gigs that went down a storm.
Present to myself, picked up while browsing the pop-up music stall that's often on Middle Meadow Walk. Frankly you've got me a Thelonius Monk, but Monk with John Coltrane? Oh yes, having that. Exra little bonus when I got home and went to put it on the turntable, to discover the actual record was not only pressed in coloured vinyl but translucent too, so I improvised this quick shot of it with a small light behind the record.

Barber poles spinning and bright neon glasses...
Old funky signs with their rust in the masses...
Bottles in bags without any strings...
These are a few of my favorite things...
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As most of you know, these are among some of my favorite things...(that I can list here anyway)...
Barber poles & neon cocktail glasses...
(I can't say martini glasses because some have olives and some have cherries)...
((attention to detail, son))...
This just might be the perfect shot, in my eyes...
>>>>>>>>>>>>> aka until the day is done
{ In the process of constructing a manual collage -- scissors, mutilated photographs & publications, glue sticks. ad nauseam -- I had these last few elements sitting on the counter along w/ some related detritus, amd needed to shoot them the way they were just sitting there. After that, I added additional simple elements to create a triple exposure -- did you really expect otherwise? ;}
I like Coltrane. in the center, looking up (sort of levitating above the r.e.m. lyrics, et al.).
Incidentally, I have lots of film rolls shot over (no kidding) recent years -- whenever the moment has presented itself -- and I'll develop as soon as I find someone, meaning a lab, to work with! None left in town! D'oooooooh.
Well, thank you, as always, for stopping by. Prost. 8^)
Oh, those lines are from a photo of a cracked HD TV screen. Oops. ;}
