Foals are a band from Oxford. Their debut album 'Antidotes' is an album that re-defined the indie music scene. Last year they took a sort-of live concert hiatus and just played a few festivals abroad while they spent time working on their follow-up to the hugely successful debut. This year they have returned with a masterpiece 'Total Life Forever'. The album is definitely a grower, but fans of Foals will love every minute.
Last night they pulled one out of the bag and were phenomenal sounding. The lighting wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either, but they made up for it and I managed quite well.

Del nuovo album spicca il fatto che siano, ancora una volta, riusciti a distinguersi spiccatamente nel contesto musicale dell’indie-rock. I loro show, poi, sono annoverati tra i più rock e adrenalinici del genere.
Dal 2008 ad oggi Yannis Philippakis e compagni dimostrano di saper continuare a trovare il loro sound e di non perdere la loro capacità innata nel far divertire il pubblico.

The Portland Beavers was the name of separate minor league baseball teams, which represented Portland, Oregon, in the Pacific Coast League. The team was established in 1903, the first year of the PCL. In 1906, the team was renamed the Portland Beavers after a newspaper contest was started to decide the new name of the team. That season, the Portland team won its first pennant in the PCL. Portland repeated as PCL champs in 1911 fielding four 20-game-winning pitchers. (San Francisco Call, 18 July 1908) - Jimmy Smith, the fast little Oakland outfielder, was slipped his getaway privilege yesterday by Captain Van Haltren. Jimmy has been in bad shape for the last two months, and try as he might he could not get right again. Danny Long thinks very well of the little fellow, and it will not be at all surprising if Smith appears in a Seal uniform before many days have passed. He is sure of a job with the local team provided he can pull himself together and show anything that looks like his old time form.
(Sacramento Union, 20 July 1908) - Oakland has granted Jimmy Smith his release, as he has been in poor form all the season. Last spring at San Diego he sprained his ankle. He tried to get into shape, but it was impossible for him to do so.
(Santa Cruz Sentinel, 22 July 1908) - Jimmy Smith, who was regarded as one of the stellar outfielders and hitters of tho Coast League last season, is slated to arrive today and play with the Crabs. Smith has been out of the game most of the season as a result of a bad ankle and therefore has not had opportunity to show up in his real 1907 form. Before going into professional society Smith was a clever slabster and if in shape will be called upon to take his turn in the box regularly. Devereaux, who was a teammate believes that there is not a more promising young player on the coast than Smith.

The fans were not slow in expressing their opinions of President Walter of the transbay club yesterday. He was accused of being a cheap manager, a joke in baseball and other things too numerous to mention. The general belief is that Jimmy Smith, whom Oakland released two years ago, will take Murphy's place.
