This card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's shaker card. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GcYWFrIMjs. The stamp set is SSS "Lila's Heart"

Another Alcohol ink card. I had made the embellishment tag by using alcohol ink and shrinky plastic and using the technique on Jennifer's video and this is the card I made to use it. I wasn't quick enough to wipe of the archival ink on the big ferns so they stayed brown on the red and yellow background. I edged all pieces with gold pen and matted the background onto the kraft and then onto pink. The tag was pop dotted to give some dimension to the card.

I CASED this card from Hero Arts blog here. but for some reason my stamp didn't go very good and I ended up with these white splodges ( ink got onto bits of the stamp it shouldn't have) Still it is an interesting look. I followed the video by Jennifer but added a sentiment by Stamp-It

I started this card after watching Part 2 of this weeks Thinking Inking by Jennifer McGuire over at 2peas. I didn't get it finished and photographed before Dustypenny got hers up here

I couldn't believe we both used the same colours for our distressing and both used flowers as well. The weather has improved enough for me to take a photo of mine.... only slightly different.

Heart 7 : Row 2

Embossed Acetate Technique

The acetate I used for this heart wasn't as thick as normal acetate and therefore I didn't really get the results I was seeking. Back to using product packaging!

Supplies Used:

Paper: Georgia Pacific [white], clear acetate

Silhouette: heart [Kerri Bradford]

Ink: Distress Ink [barn door]

Foam Handle: Tim Holtz

Flower: Prima

Patterned paper: Doodlebug [leaf]

Circle punch: Fiskars

Pearl: Hero Arts

Foam dots: Scrapbook Adhesives

Heart 2 : Row 1

Paint Resist Technique

Stamp using acrylic paint, then cover with distress ink.

Supplies Used:

Paper: Georgia Pacific [white]

Silhouette: heart [Kerri Bradford]

Stamp: Hero Arts

Paint Dabber: Ranger [snow cap [white]]

Ink: Distress Ink [wild honey, barn door, frayed burlap, brushed corduroy]

Foam Handle: Tim Holtz

Heart 9 : Row 2

Altered Color Embossing Technique

I didn't have any white core paper on hand, so I inked up my heart, embossed it, then sanded the top...it seemed to work pretty similarly. Then I punched out the butterfly and added the additional color on the embossed pattern.

Supplies Used:

Paper: Georgia Pacific [white]

Silhouette: heart [Kerri Bradford]

Ink: Distress Ink [peeled paint]

Foam Handle: Tim Holtz

Butterfly punch: Martha Stewart

Embossing folder: Cuttlebug

Pens: Staedtler [blue and yellow]

This is a completed version of my Thinking Inking Retake tags, assembled into a Technique Tag Book.

I made two tags to revisit each "week" of the original Thinking Inking video series by Jennifer McGuire. So each tag book has 18 tags total.

The book is "bound" with a 2" chrome book ring.

See the reverse side of the Technique Tag Book here.

I have two extra copies of my Technique Tag book for sale on my blog.

Thanks for looking! :-)

Heart 4 : Row 1

Canvas Resist Technique

This one is one I want to play with more. The color didn't turn out nearly as bright as I would have liked, but still fun.

Stamp flower on canvas heart, emboss with white powder. Then cover with layers of distress ink, spray with perfect pearls and voila...not the effect I wanted.

Supplies Used:

Canvas: Ranger [sticky back]

Silhouette: heart [Kerri Bradford]

Stamp: KI Memories

Ink: Versamark, Distress Ink [wild honey]

Foam Handle: Tim Holtz

Perfect Pearls: Ranger

Embossing powder: American Crafts

Made this for my daughter’s 11th Birthday. The word die cuts are all from Amazon. Each word is cut out of various teal cs to create an ombré look, triple stacked for dimension & topped with some spectrum noir glitter pen. Added some Oxide ink blending in twisted citron behind each word to make it stand out. Topped it off with some Gansai Tambi gold watercolor splatter & iridescent & pool colored gem stones to add some sparkle. Propped my finished panel (Neenah solar white cs) on some fun foam and finished off the right edge by trimming it down allowing the teal stripped washi tape from Target to show.

Heart 3 : Row 1

Trapped Embossed Resist Technique

This is one of my favorites! Stamp a text definition on the heart in color, then stamp flower image and emboss with clear powder, then cover with ink.

Supplies Used:

Paper: Georgia Pacific [white]

Silhouette: heart [Kerri Bradford]

Stamp: Hero Arts [flower and text]

Ink: Versamark, Distress Ink [wild honey, barn door]

Foam Handle: Tim Holtz

Embossing powder: American Crafts

This is my card for Mateja's Christmas exchange. I think everyone should have recieved it by now. This exchange has become a part of my annual Christmas tradition. Thanks for hosting Mateja!

I used a stencil from Tim Holtz called "Festive" THS029 and texture paste. When dry I colored the texture using Distress Markers. This is an idea I saw in a youtube video from Jennifer McGuire. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0TUkak-wNY

Jennifer McGuire does a card drive on her blog for Grace, a little girl whose twin sister lost her battle with cancer lately.

With my own background, i definitely had to make a card for Grace.

I choose this High Hopes monkey stamp "Cheeky Sean" that I love and had fun coloring it with promarkers.

The leafy background is a Hero Art stamp: "Floating leaves"

See Jennifer McGuire's blog.

And Heather Ruwe's blog who is making a blog candy about this card drive.

Kissed Resist Technique

Another one of my favorite techniques! When I started playing, I couldn't locate my glossy paper, so I'll definitely have to go back and re-work this one.

Ink up background stamp with Versamark, ink up reverse words with distress ink. Stamp words onto background, then stamp onto paper. Emboss with clear powder, fill in with distress ink.

Supplies Used:

Paper: Georgia Pacific [white]

Silhouette: heart [Kerri Bradford]

Stamp: Hero Arts, Stampers Anonymous [Tim Holtz]

Ink: Versamark, Distress Ink [broken china, peeled paint]

Foam Handle: Tim Holtz

Embossing powder: American Crafts

See the front of the Technique Tag Book here.

I attached labels to the reverse side of each tag. The labels tell which week the techniques are from, the techniques used, and the supplies used to create the tag.

Thanks for looking! :-)

I've been using the Acrylic block technique again... This time - Shabby shutters with some Barn Door red on the edges. This was the 2nd stamping - just spritzed a bit more water onto it... really pleased with the result. I added the Stamp-it tree and some Kaisercraft embellishments... the little flower for a star and some dew drops coloured with a red copic. The sentiment is a Hero Arts one from a Sparkle Clear set. The background paper was some I found in my stash. ( Lord knows where I got it... I have piles of paper all over the show)

If at first you don't succeed...make a pink background. I was trying out @jennifermcguire's technique for layering #distressoxide inks, my first color palette was too yellow and bright enough to light up a small city, plus I somehow misaligned the @concordand9th Flower Turnabout stamp, and everything ended up in the wrong place‍♀️. Trash that, deep breath, start over. I hardly ever do pink, but I like the final result paired with @simonsaysstamp Modern Rose Blooms. Birthday stamp also by Simon and border die by @crafterscompus. I'm entering this card in Simon's Wednesday and Flickr challenges.

Traditional Resist Technique

I tried two variations of this technique, one on glossy paper and one on plain cardstock. This is the plain cardstock version and I like it the best.

Supplies Used:

Paper: Georgia Pacific [white]

Silhouette: heart [Kerri Bradford]

Stamp: Studio G

Ink: Versamark, Distress Ink [antique linen, brushed corduroy]

Foam Handle: Tim Holtz

Embossing powder: American Crafts
