Back to Katy country (and another re-edit) to find a northbound freight crossing the BN (ex-Frisco), behind a GP39-2 +three units; the head-end brakie is preparing to pick up orders. My '84 Jeep Cherokee is in the foreground, which got me down here from western Nebraska to visit some friends (both humans and railroad.) I know I missed Miss Katy's red dress, but she was certainly more prosperous looking as this train is moving at a fast rate behind some new power. Soon the Katy will be merged into the U.P., just as the MoPac, that had trackage rights on the Katy from here to Ft.Worth, was absorbed in '82. Together the Katy and MoPac will offer Uncle Pete two ways to get from KC to Ft.Worth.

Silverstone Classic Sunday 2023

Zwanenburg, the Netherlands.

Its been two weeks since I started my nomadic life adventure and falling asleep to these views, a guy could get used to.

Jimmy Marble for the "Them & Theirs" series. Another great reason to love LA, I was certain we were going to get fined for hanging this massive tarp off the overpass but several cops pulled up during the shoot, didn't even ask for a permit, just said, "Who put that up there?" When I told them it was me, they just asked my last name and drove off without a care.

am parked just above a stretch of the Swan River called the Wild Mile. This is a destination spot for extreme kayak people. During the the month of May, spring runoff, this part of the river becomes the "wild mile".

Image created from multiple exposures blended together in Photoshop layers using the "Lighten" blend mode. All exposures were taken with a single Einstein strobe with a 22" beauty dish attached to a boom arm.

Curt and his son, Chris, pose out on Father Crowley Point in Death Valley National Park. Our upcoming trip next month will mark the 20th anniversary of this trip. Both Curt and Chris will be joining me again this year.

I seem to be on a theme of posting a daily shot - one per year - of past Death Valley trips. I think I'll keep that up until I get to last year's photos again.

That's Telescope Peak, 11,043", off in the distance. It's about 28 miles away.

We are revisiting my trips to Death Valley, starting in 2003, and posting one photo a day from each trip, in antipication of my upcoming trip next month.

This is a shot of the PPV (Photographic Pursuit Vehicle) under the Milky Way out in the Palouse area of eastern Washington.

It was such an amazing night to be out under the stars with a camera. At one point I was able to photograph the Northern Lights on the horizon.

Another very elderly police car, this one is at least fourteen years old

Saw this jeep, all decked out, and ready to fight a zombie invasion.....I sure feel safe living here now.....actually, I'd feel a lot safer if Buffy was here instead. There are a lot of blood sucking business owners in this town. :-))) (sometimes I just gotta post the silly everyday stuff)
